In the Service Army Spec. Pastor Paul M. Durano has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises. Durano is the brother of Charmaine Durano-Lepelletier of Freehold.
Col. Robert L. Stine Jr., of Freehold, was named the Maintenance Division Chief, Logistics Directorate, Headquarters Air Education and Training command (AAETC), Randolph Air Force Base, Texas, during the 58th Maintenance Group Change of Com-mand Ceremony in New Mexico. He entered the Air Force in 1982, a distinguished graduate of the Reserve Officers Training Corps program from an Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) campus. He has held critical line and staff positions in five different Major Commands (MAJCOMs) working issues supporting fighter, airlift, tanker, reconnaissance, rotorcraft, training, and air surveillance and control aircraft. Stine is a graduate of Freehold Regional High School, Freehold. He earned a master of science degree in aviation management from ERAU; a master of arts degree in national security and strategic studies from the Naval War College, Newport, R.I.; and a master of science degree in national resource strategy from the Industrial college of the Armed Forces, National Defense University, Fort McNair, Washington, D.C. Stine and his wife Deborah reside in Freehold, and have two children, Robert and Jennifer.
Army Pfc. Joseph R. Peppard, son of Lori and Robert Peppard of Freehold Township, has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla. During the nine-week course, Peppard studied the Army mission and received instruction and training exercises in drill and ceremonies, Army history, core values and traditions, military courtesy and justice, first aid, weapons use, and map reading and land navigation. His training also involved taking part in physical fitness, rifle marksmanship, foot marches, armed and unarmed combat, and field maneuvers and tactics. Peppard is a 2004 graduate of Colts Neck High School.
Army Pvt. Michael R. Cusanelli, son of Elizabeth Bartz of Freehold, has earned distinction as an honor graduate of basic combat training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla. The nine-week course involved studying the Army mission and receiving instruction and training exercises in drill and ceremonies, Army history, core values and traditions, military courtesy and justice, first aid, weapons use, and map reading and land navigation. Cusanelli also took part in physical fitness, rifle marksmanship, foot marches, and armed and unarmed combat, as well as field maneuvers and tactics. He is a 2006 graduate of Freehold Township High School.
