Art center plans annual festival FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP - Art lovers, or even those people who just want to enjoy a lovely afternoon out with great visuals, will appreciate the Around the Corner Art Center's art festival and sale to be held June 2. The second annual art festival and sale will take place between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. in the courtyard in front of the building. The Around the Corner Art Center is in the historic Solomon House in the Mount's Corner shopping center at the corner of Route 537 and Wemrock Road. There will be something for people of all ages to enjoy, according to Mark Kolessar, the art instructor at the center. He said a juried art show and the sale of art crafted by children and adults will be part of the event. Children and adults who have worked hard all year with the instructors at the center will proudly display the art they have created in pastels, pencil, acrylics, watercolors and mixed media. Kolessar, who teaches art to children and teenagers, said that in addition to the art sale, there will free face painting provided by Snazaroo; a food-tasting from noon to 2 p.m. from BaCo's Pizzeria and La Piazza Restaurant. Both food businesses are in the Mount's Corner shopping center. Festival guests will be entertained with live music by Kindred Spirit. The event will also feature product demonstrations by fine art distributors and manufacturers. For additional information, visit www.aroundthecornerartcenter.com.
