| For fans who weren't around yet, or who want to revisit a definitive chapter in rock and roll history, an insider's look at the music scene during the heyday of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones - with a tour guide who helped define that era - is yours for the price of a ticket to "Behind the Scenes With Pete Bennett."
Scheduled for June 30 at 8 p.m. at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, "Behind the Scenes" is a look back at the music business hosted by the man who was the promotional manager for the groups that led the British Invasion of the 1960s.
Joining Bennett live onstage at the Count Basie will be Spencer Davis of the Spencer Davis Group ("Gimme Some Loving"), Denny Laine of the Moody Blues ("Go Now") and Terry Sylvester of the Hollies ("The Air That I Breathe") to tell their stories using words, sound clips and vintage video footage.
The event is presented by the Count Basie Theatre Foundation to benefit the Count Basie Theatre.
Gold Circle tickets include a pre-concert reception and an exhibit of original British Invasion-era photography and a post-concert reception and meet and greet with the artists.
Tickets are priced at $25 to $75 and may be purchased online at the Web site www.countbasietheatre.org or by calling the box office at (732) 842-9000.
