Kruise Night returns to streets of Freehold Borough May 31 FREEHOLD - The Kruise Night series, hosted by the Freehold Center Partnership and the Western Monmouth Chamber of Commerce, will begin a 16th season on May 31 from 6-10 p.m. in downtown Freehold Borough. Vintage car owners will show off their prized vehicles by cruising Main Street before an audience of ardent admirers. After their cruise on Main Street, the cars will be parked in the Monmouth County Hall of Records parking lot for enthusiastic car lovers to observe more closely. Kruise Night will be held on the last Thursday of the month from May through August. Admission is free; however, attendees are asked to contribute monetary donations to the Freehold Open Door food pantry. Livening up the evening's event will be a performance by the all-girl group the Angel Tones, performing from 7-9 p.m. in the Hall of Records parking lot. The Angel Tones bring back special memories with hit songs by girl groups from the 1950s to the 1980s. All restaurants will be open for dining. Street vendors and nonprofit organizations will be set up on East Main Street. Members of the Freehold Kruisers Car Club will be on hand to direct the vintage car owners on where to park. In addition to the four Kruise Nights, the Freehold Center Partnership's yearlong series of events include: the Free-hold Idol auditions, 10 Wednesdays beginning June 13 (except July 4); Farmers Markets on Tuesdays, June 12 through Oct. 23; Independence Day celebration on July 4; Dine Around, Aug. 21; the San Gennaro Festival and Antique-fest, Sept. 16; and its summer concert series on Thursdays, July to September.
