Actors from near and far are invited to audition for the Strand Theater Ensemble's July production of "Noises Off." Auditions will be held May 14 and 15 at 7 p.m. at the Strand Theater, 400 Clifton Ave., Lakewood. Five men and four women are being sought to perform. Phoenix Productions will conduct auditions for "Fiddler on the Roof" May 15 and 16, 7-10 p.m., at the second-floor studio in the Count Basie Theatre, 99 Monmouth St., Red Bank. The Young Artist Program of New Jersey Opera will perform its season-ending "Scenes Concerts" 7:30 p.m. May 16 at the Princeton library, 65 Witherspoon St., Princeton and 2 p.m. May 20 at the Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum, 71 Hamilton St., New Brunswick. Both concerts are free (admission to the museum is $3). Featured in this concert will be scenes and arias from operas like "Die Fledermaus," "Madama Butterfly," "Der Rosenkavalier," "Carmen." and more. Broadway favorites will take a bow as audiences are taken "Down Memory Lane" in Ocean County College's prerenovation salute to the Fine Arts Center. Director Gary Shaffer will bring together a talented cast to present some favorite Broadway musical hits that have been performed at the OCC Fine Arts Center over the past four decades from "Guys and Dolls" to "Anything Goes," from "Cabaret" to "Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah" (and everything in between). "Curtains Calls," a script-in-hand new look at old musicals, will close the Fine Arts Center's 2006-2007 season with concert versions of musicals of the past accompanied by a live orchestra.
