Brownie troop to hold cookie sale for soldiers

St. Rose of Lima School's first-grade Brownie Troop No. 1254 will hold a cookie sale April 21 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Wal-Mart on Route 537, Freehold Township.

The Scouts are asking customers to support American soldiers by purchasing boxes of cookies to be sent to three soldiers who are in Iraq, two of whom are graduates of St. Rose. The troop will also accept donations of "care package" items to be sent to the soldiers. Additionally, the student body is writing letters and notes of encouragement to the soldiers and will include all of the donations in a large shipment to be sent overseas. For further information, contact Mary Donnelly, St. Rose PTA publicity coordinator, at (732) 845-0059.
