Voters asked to support school budget on April 17

I am writing to plead for Freehold Township residents to come out and vote yes for the school budget April 17.

Freehold Township schools are among the best in the state as evidenced by our consistently high student achievement.

The district strives to offer an outstanding education and accomplishes that with a lower average cost of education per student compared to many other districts.

Year after year we have passed our budget to support our children. This year can be no different. Our school boards are in a terrible situation with laws like

S-1701. We need to pass the budget so they can continue to provide a sound education for the children of our community.

Passing the budget shows your support for not only the outstanding work in our schools, but it magnifies your belief that educating our youth is the future of this country.

I am reading day after day about the cuts districts around us are being forced to make. Our district has been planning and supporting the budget so well that we are not cutting anything from our budget.

Residents should be proud of themselves for continuing to say yes to education and yes to a brighter future. The polls are open from 3-9 p.m. Bring a friend and vote yes.
