Obituaries John "Jack" Soule
Mr. Soule, 72, of Howell, died March 7, 2007, at CentraState Medical Center, Free-hold Township. He was born in Syracuse, N.Y., and had lived in Springfield, Belleville and Jackson before moving to Howell in 2000. Prior to retiring in 2000, he was a warehouse worker in the shipping and receiving department of Moore Business Forms, Cranbury, for more than 10 years. He had also previously been a rate analyst at Ford Motor Co., Linden. Mr. Soule was a former member of the Jackson Elks Lodge. He was predeceased by a sister, Alice Pero. Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Dorothy Soule; a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Christina Soule of Andover; two granddaughters, Brianna and Jillian; and an aunt and uncle, Louise and Jerry Griffith of Verona, N.Y. A funeral Mass was offered at St. Robert Bellarmine Roman Catholic Church, Freehold Township, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. Mrs. Bologna, 88, of Howell, died March 8, 2007, at Specialty Hospital at Kimball, located at Kimball Medical Center in Lakewood. Born in Palermo, Italy, she had lived in Brooklyn, N.Y., before returning to Palermo. She had resided in Howell for the past 14 years and was a communicant of St. Veronica's Roman Catholic Church, Howell. Mrs. Bologna was predeceased by her husband, Stefano, in 1996. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Aldo and Lillian Bologna of Howell; a daughter, Joanna Bologna of Manalapan; three sisters, Maria, Nina and Elvira; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Veronica's Church, followed by entombment at St. Gabriel's Mausoleum, Marlboro. Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan, was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Montesano, 85, of Old Bridge, died March 14, 2007, in Victoria Health Care Center, Matawan. Prior to his retirement in 1987, he was employed as a car salesman with McDonough Chrysler, East Brunswick, where he worked for 10 years. His wife, Jeanne Zuccaro Montesano, died in 1993, and a son, James P. Montesano Jr., died in 1998. Surviving are a daughter, Beverly Ginelli, and her husband, John, of Manalapan; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Ambrose Church, Old Bridge. Mr. Wolf, 47, of Howell, died March 21, 2007, at home. Born in Red Bank, he grew up in Hazlet and had lived in Union before moving to Howell 17 years ago. Prior to becoming disabled in February, he was the store manager at Lowe's home improvement center, Eatontown, for the past six years He was a communicant of The Church of St. Veronica, Howell. Mr. Wolf was predeceased in 1996 by his mother, Claire Wolf. He is survived by his wife, Susan Gates Wolf; a son, Matthew Wolf, at home; his father and stepmother, William and Rita Wolf of Redding, Calif.; three brothers, Michael Wolf of Kansas, Steven Wolf of Keyport and David Wolf of Bridgewater; and a sister, Kathryn Courtney of Hazlet. Mrs. Wright, 75, of Farmingdale, died March 16, 2007, at home. She was predeceased by a grandchild and a brother. Ms. Leliaert, 98, of Freehold, died March 20, 2007, at The Manor Care Center, Freehold Township. Born in Fair Lawn, she had worked as a seamstress for Polchak's Coat Factory, Atlantic Frocks and Eisner's, all of Freehold. She was a member of International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union Local No. 85, New York City. Ms. Leliaert enjoyed caring for her floral gardens, which were once featured in the Freehold Transcript. Mr. Dellechiaie, 81, of Howell, died March 22, 2007, at home. Born in Staten Island, N.Y., he had resided there before moving to Howell 20 years ago. Prior to retiring, he was a dispatcher for the New York City Transit Authority. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4374, Freehold Township. He was an avid golfer and fisherman. Mr. Dellechiaie was predeceased by his wife, Frances, in 1996. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Robert Stout of Howell; two sisters, Connie Arvanitis and Angie Rasmussen, both of Manchester; and four grandchildren, Cody, Randy, Michelle and Danielle. Mrs. Clemente, 78, of Silvermead, Free-hold Township, died March 23, 2007, at home. Born in Manhattan, N.Y., she had lived in Brooklyn, N.Y., and Groton, Conn., before moving to Freehold Township seven years ago. She was a waitress at Union Carbide, Man-hattan. She was a communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine Roman Catholic Church, Freehold Township, a member of the Silvermead Community Club and a member of the Silvermead Bocce Club. Mrs. Clemente was predeceased by her husband, Michael, in 1993. Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Charles Clemente of Wayne, and Frank and Donna Clemente of Freehold Township; a brother, Thomas Riker of Massachusetts; and two grandsons, Michael and Christopher Clemente. Mrs. Apito, 49, of Aberdeen, died March 24, 2007, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Elizabeth, she resided in Union Beach and Hazlet prior to relocating to Aberdeen two years ago. She was a bus driver for Old Bridge Township for three years. She was predeceased by her parents, Albert C. and Gloria Guterl Fredericks. She is survived by her husband, Stephen Apito; two daughters, Lori Vona of Hazlet, and Rose Johnson of Hampton, Va.; two sons, Anthony Vona Jr. of Hazlet, and Albert Vona of Keyport; three sisters, Elaine Croasdale of Jackson, Mary Cook of Toms River, and Catherine Dulin of Hazlet; a brother, Michael Fredericks of Flanders; and two grandsons. Mr. Carman, 83, of Manalapan, died March 11, 2007, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Boston, he had lived in New York City and Rochester, N.Y., before moving to Manalapan. He was a machinist at the Brooklyn Navy Yard in New York for 20 years. Prior to retiring, he worked in the New York Civil Court. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Carman is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sylvia Carman; a daughter, Leslie Swanson of Queens, N.Y.; a son, Stephen Carman of Lakeland, Fla.; two sisters, Jewel Lucero of Florida and Joyce Jennings of California; three grandchildren; and several friends and other relatives. Mr. Clarke, 43, of Middletown, died March 12, 2007, at home. Born in New York City, he resided in Middletown most of his life. He was a sous chef at Inlet Café, Highlands. Prior to that, he was a chef at Navesink Café, Red Bank. He was predeceased by his grandfather, William Midura; and his paternal grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Doreen Clarke; his parents, Carol and Thomas Clarke of Tampa, Fla.; a brother and sister-in-law, Brian and Denise Clarke of Howell; a sister and brother-in-law, Megan and Rob Clarke-Turek of Orlando, Fla.; his grandmother, Mary Midura of Toms River; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Murphy, 74, of Jackson, died March 12, 2007, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She was born in Jersey City and had lived in Hoboken and Freehold Township before moving to Jackson 22 years ago. Prior to retiring in 1995, she was a van driver for the Freehold Regional High School District. She was also a member of the Jackson Senior Center, where she especially enjoyed doing ceramics. Mrs. Murphy was predeceased by a son, Robert, in 1992, as well as a sister, Joan. Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Joseph; two sons, Joseph Murphy of Freehold Township and Michael Murphy of Ontario, Canada; a daughter, Elizabeth Trebotica of Freehold Township; three brothers, Nicholas of Bloomfield, Robert of Connecticut and Gerard of New Jersey; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Ruppert Mr. Ruppert, 85, of Middletown, died March 13, 2007. Born in New York City, he resided in Middletown since 1973. He was deputy chief of the Weehawken Fire Depart-ment for 35 years, retiring in 1984. He was also a crossing guard in Middletown. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a communicant of St. Leo The Great Roman Catholic Church, Lincroft. He was a member of Middletown Elks Post No. 2179. He was predeceased by two sisters, Madeline Cole and Frances Ruppert; and two brothers, Lawrence and Vincent Ruppert. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James F. and Doreann Ruppert of Freehold; a daughter, Ellen Ruppert of Eatontown; a sister, Catherine Warncke of Middletown; and six grandchildren. Mr. Leitgeb, 68, of Howell, died March 13, 2007, at Ocean Medical Center, Brick. He was born in Adendorf, Hungary, and had lived in Long Branch before moving to Howell six years ago. Prior to retiring in 1998, he was a mason and a finisher for Louis & John Inc., a drywall company in Long Branch. Most recently, he was a carpenter for Strevens Building Corp., Freehold. Mr. Leitgeb was predeceased in 1995 by his wife, Joan, and in 1987 by a daughter, Patti. Surviving are four daughters and three sons-in-law, Heather and John Strevens of Howell, Carolyn and Michael Brennan of Zionsville, Ind., Heidi and Tim Fries of Flemington, and Terry Leitgeb of Redondo Beach, Calif., and her fiancé, Jon Raynack; a sister, Suze Lauber of Germany; a sister-in-law, Margaret Baistow of Howell; and eight grandchildren. Mr. Fenwick, 82, of the Cheesequake section of Old Bridge, died March 13, 2007, in Victoria House Nursing Home, Matawan. He was the owner-operator of Cheesequake Garage, Old Bridge, and Deep Run Repair and Maintenance Corp., Marlboro Airport, Marl-boro. He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy Sommers Fenwick. Surviving are his life partner, Ellie VanPelt of Lehigh Acres, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Fenwick Bockman of Fort Myers Beach, Fla.; a nephew and a niece, Everett Fenwick Jr. and Christine Kiebach; and several cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was a retired secretary at American Food Machinery Company, New York City. Prior to that, she was a substitute teacher and lunch mother at St. Mary's church and School, Queens, N.Y. She was a communicant of St. Benedict's Roman Catholic Church, Holmdel. She was a member of the church's Saints and Sinners Club. She is survived by her husband, Joseph; a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Christine Battaglia of Freehold Township; and two grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Benedict's Church. Mrs. Musolino, 86, of Freehold Township, died March 15, 2007, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She was born in Canandaigua, N.Y., and had lived there and in Staten Island, N.Y., before settling in Freehold in 1992. Prior to retiring in 1990, she was a sales assistant for J.C. Penney Co. Inc., Staten Island, for 20 years. She was an avid, lifelong bowler, most recently at Howell Lanes. Mrs. Musolino was predeceased by her husband, Joseph A. Musolino, and two brothers, Tony and Samuel DiMartino. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Joyce Musolino of Freehold Township; two daughters and a son-in-law, Geraldine and Robert Savette of Seattle, and Kathy Wynn of the Rossville section of Staten Island; three sisters, Catherine Garutto of San Diego, Josephine Garutto of Oxford, N.Y., and Sarah Catalano of Shaker Heights, Ohio; and five grandchildren. A funeral service was held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township. Interment took place at St. Peter's Cemetery, Staten Island.
