Downed wires caused Sweetmans Lane to be closed

Sweetmans Lane in Manalapan was closed for about two hours on March 29 beginning at 7:15 a.m. Manalapan Police Chief Stuart Brown said the road's closure and subsequent traffic diversions were made necessary due to downed electrical wires along Sweetmans Lane. Brown said authorities were not certain what caused the wires to come down. He said the road closure lasted as long as it did in order for crews from Jersey Central Power & Light to be able to respond and make repairs at the scene.
