BCC to host film series The International Center at Brookdale Community College will host an East Asian Film Series. Screenings are free and will be held Tuesdays, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., in the MAN building, room 105, at the Lincroft main campus. Parking is most convenient in lots 6, 7 and 1. The schedule is: + April 3 - "Grave of the Fireflies" directed by Takahata Isao (1988). This acclaimed animated film depicts the struggles of a young brother and sister to survive during the final days of World War II in Japan. In Japanese with English subtitles. + April 17 - "Joint Security Area" directed by Park Chan-wook (2000) This South Korean thriller centers around the investigation of an incident at the 38th parallel dividing North Korea and South Korea. The investigation reveals an illicit cross-border friendship. In Korean with English subtitles. + May 1 - "Shower" directed by Zhang Yang (1999). A Shanghai businessman returns home to help out in his father's bathhouse. This heartwarming film explores the impact of China's rapid modernization on the traditions of a Beijing neighborhood.
