School budget to be presented

MARLBORO - During March and April, Superintendent of Schools David C. Abbott has scheduled a series of presentations about the proposed 2007-08 school year budget.

The community is invited to attend any of the question-and-answer sessions to learn more about Marlboro's school budget, how it is constructed, what it includes, how it impacts property taxes and more.

Presentations are sponsored by Project 3000 and district parent organizations.

Residents who are interested in receiving updates via e-mail about matters concerning the 2007-08 school budget and the April 17 election should e-mail Project 3000 at Project3000@aol.com (include name and e-mail address).

The budget presentations are scheduled for:

+ March 15, 7:30 p.m., Marlboro Early Learning Center, 171 Tennent Road.

+ March 20, 9:15 a.m., Defino Central Elementary School, 175 Route 79.

+ March 21, 9:15 a.m., Dugan Elementary School, 48 Topanemus Road.

+ March 22, 9 a.m., Marlboro Memorial Middle School, 71 Nolan Road.

+ March 22, 7:30 p.m., Marlboro Middle School, 355 Route 520.

+ March 26, 7:30 p.m., Marlboro Elementary School, 100 School Road West.

+ March 28, 7:30 p.m., SCOPE at Marlboro Recreation Community Center, Wyncrest Road.

+ April 11, 9:30 a.m., Robertsville Elementary School, 36 Menzel Lane.

+ April 12, 9:15 a.m., Asher Holmes Elementary School, 48 Menzel Lane.

The Board of Education will be introducing the 2007-08 budget in the near future. Residents will vote on the budget in the April 17 school election.
