Robert E. Courter Sr. Mr. Courter, 83, of Holmdel, died Feb. 5, 2007, at Arnold Walter Nursing Home, Holmdel. Born in Newark, he resided in Middletown for 58 years, prior to relocating to Holmdel two years ago. He was a lead custodian for Hazlet Township Board of Education for 21 years, retiring in 1988. He served with the U.S. Coast Guard from 1942-45 during World War Ii. He was a past member of The Sportsman Hunting Club. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Courter in 1983; a son, Kenneth Courter in 1982; and a brother, Albert Courter in 1999. He is survived by three sons and one daughter-in-law, Robert E. and Sharon Courter Jr. of Poway, Calif., and Richard Courter and Edwin Courter, both of the Port Monmouth section of Middletown; three daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret and Cappy Piscitelli of Keansburg, Barbara and Ed Faiella of Marlboro, and Edna and William Cribbin of Middletown; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Burial was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
