Catherine Elizabeth "Kay" Mandel

Mrs. Mandel, 87, of Freehold, died Feb. 9, 2007, at Methodist Healthcare University Hospital, Memphis, Tenn. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and had resided in Freehold since 1960. Prior to retiring, she was a nurse aide for the MCOSS Family Health & Nursing Service, Freehold. She was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church, Freehold, as well as a volunteer for the Girl Scouts of America and the Freehold Area Hospital (now CentraState Medical Center) Auxiliary, Freehold Township. Mrs. Mandel was predeceased by her husband, Charles Edward Mandel, in 1969. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret Mandel-Brooks and James Brooks of Memphis, and Catherine Mandel-Chucta and William Chucta of Freehold; and two grandchildren, Lauren and Justin Brooks. Funeral services were held at Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, followed by interment at Maple-wood Cemetery, Freehold Township.
