Baker, LaFalce, Roberson join 1,000 point club

The distinguished group of 1,000-point career scorers added three more players this winter.

Colts Neck guard Brian Baker and Freehold Township forwards T.J. LaFalce and Marcus Roberson all joined that select group of Freehold Regional District boys within a few days of each other.

Baker was the first getting his 1,000 career point against the Patriots in a loss on Feb. 1. He is averaging 14.6 points a game for a Colts Neck team that is 15-4 and will have the No. 5 seed when the Central Jersey Group IV tournament begins the week of Feb. 26. With 46 3-pointers, he ranks sixth in the Shore Conference. He is the second Cougar to surpass 1,000 career points, joining Mike DeCorso.

Fittingly, LaFalce and Roberson, who have played such a big role in taking the Patriots to heights the program has never experienced before, both netted their 1,000 career points on the same night, Feb. 5. They are the sixth and seventh players in school history to surpass the milestone.

LaFalce ranks third in the Shore in scoring, averaging 20.2 points a game, while Roberson is at 12.1 and averaging 8.2 rebounds as well. LaFalce ranks among the Shore's leaders in three-point shooting with 35.

The Patriots are 19-0 and are the No. 1 seed in CJ IV.
