Knights will host casino night Feb. 17

FREEHOLD - Those who enjoy games of chance will have the opportunity to play blackjack, poker, roulette and Texas Hold 'Em at Casino Night 2007 on Feb. 17.

The event will be held 7-11 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Freehold Council No. 1672, 70 E. Main Street. The Knights are sponsoring the event as a fundraiser for several charities.

The primary charity that will benefit from Casino Night is Rachel House, a home for young women that educates and supports women through pregnancy and encourages life, according to Robert Crawford, who is a member of the Knights of Columbus and a borough councilman.

Other charities supported by Casino Night are The Arc of Monmouth, a nonprofit organization that provides services and support for individuals who have mental retardation and for their families; CentraState Medical Center; and Birthright.

Admission to Casino Night will be $20. The admission ticket will buy gambling chips and refreshments.

According to Crawford, there are no cash pay-outs for winners, but there will be prizes awarded.

Prizes expected to be awarded include a digital camera, a State Theatre ticket package complete with limousine transportation, gift certificates from local restaurants and businesses, tickets to a Lakewood BlueClaws baseball game and a trip to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y.
