MGA Cyclones finish first at West Point

The Cyclones boys gymnastics team from Monmouth Gymnastics Academy competed at the 2007 West Point Open in West Point, N.Y.

The Level 7 team finished in first place and the Level 5 squad in third. Yuri Aminov coaches the MGA boys.

At Level 5 ages 7-9, Michael Luca placed 12th in the all-around, 11th on rings and parallel bars and 12th on the pommel horse.

Parker Adamo placed ninth on high bar and 11th on still rings.

Evan Hymanson placed ninth on vault.

Daniel Mizrachi and Jimmy Rush also competed.

At Level 5 ages 12-plus, Damian Jardot won the AA and placed first on the floor exercise, horse, rings, p-bars and high bar, and third on the vault.

In Level 6 ages 8-9, T.J. Orrico placed seventh in the AA, fourth on the p-bars, fifth on high bar, seventh on floor and horse, and 10th on rings.

At Level 6 ages 10-11, Christopher Graff placed ninth in the AA, first on floor and third on the horse.

Joseph Luca placed seventh on high bar, eighth on the vault and ninth on the p-bars

Willie Barron placed third on the horse and 10th on the floor

At Level 6 age 12-plus, Michael Cefalu won the AA and placed first on the floor, horse, rings, vault and p-bars, and sixth on the high bar.

At Level 7 ages 10-11, Akash Modi won the AA and placed first on the floor, horse and high bar, third on p-bars and fifth on the rings.

Emanuel Fradkin placed fifth in the AA, second on the rings, vault and p-bars, third on the high bar and sixth on the floor.

Michael Egna placed 10th in the AA, second on the vault, seventh on the pommel, 10th on the p-bars and 12th on the rings.

Mikael Khachatryan placed eighth on the rings.

Matthew Mannino placed seventh on the vault and 11th on the floor.

In Level 7 ages 12-plus action, Anthony Maita placed third in the AA and first on the floor. He was third on the vault and p-bars, fourth on the rings, ninth on the horse, and 10th on the high bar.

At Level 10 ages 14-15, Ikakia Jakub placed fourth in the AA, fifth on the rings and horse, sixth on the p-bars, ninth on the high bar and 10th on the floor.

At Level 10 ages 16-18, Steven Crabtree placed fourth in the AA, third on the rings, fourth on the floor, fifth on the p-bars, high bar and 10th on the horse and vault.

Pierce Goldsmith placed 12th in the AA, eighth on the rings and ninth on the vault.
