Students are learning to care for their community

Many children read or hear about how important contributing to their community is. The students of the Kiddie Academy of Marlboro have recently had the opportunity to experience it for themselves.

In October the children participated in a trike-a-thon for the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The students raised over $1,200 from pledges they received from family and friends, and approximately 75 children participated.

The children rode laps in the school parking lot under the supervision of kindergarten teacher Anne Lucenta, among cheers from the school faculty and family.

In November and December the children collected food for the needy and with the help of their wonderful teachers, made a sizable donation to the Monmouth County food bank, even helping to load the truck when it arrived at the facility.

As the director of this incredible education center, it makes me proud to see how the children not only are taught to enrich their minds, but their hearts as well. Kudos to them and their families for their support.
