Lovrich named town administrator

MANALAPAN - Former assistant township administrator Tara Lovrich is no longer an assistant.

With her mother and mother-in-law in attendance and looking on with pride, Lovrich was unanimously selected by the Township Committee on Jan. 10 to be-come Manalapan's new township administrator.

Former Administrator Alayne M. Shepler left the job in December after two years in the position.

Township officials said they received many applications for the position, but only a handful had qualifications that came close to Lovrich, who holds a master's degree in public administration.

Lovrich, who was the assistant administrator for two years, will now be in charge of the the day-to-day operations of Manalapan, a community with 34,000 residents, 175 employees and a $28 million budget.
