Obituaries Martha Biddle Martha M. Biddle, 105, of Freehold Township, died Nov. 11, 2006, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in East Freehold, she lived in Freehold most of her life. She was a member of the Reformed Church of Freehold and the Women of Silvermead Hospital Auxiliary. Mrs. Biddle was predeceased by her husband, Frank Sr.; two sons, Frank Jr. and Robert; four brothers, Morris, Arthur, William and Edgar Maghan; and a sister, Florence Dey. She is survived by three sons, William and Stanley of Freehold and Richard of Colts Neck; a daughter, Mary Goetz at home; 18 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main St., Freehold. Interment was held at Brick Church Cemetery, Marlboro. Melchior Snively Mr. Snively, 92, of Freehold, died Nov. 11, 2006, at Mercy Hospital-Anderson, Cincinnati. He was born in Freehold and had lived there for more than 90 years before moving recently to Cincinnati. He and his wife resided at Mercy-St. Theresa Center, Mariemont, Ohio. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. Mr. Snively worked as a weaver at the A&M Karagheusian rug mill, Freehold, and later worked for the 3M Company, Freehold, before his retirement. He was predeceased by a sister, Helen Stein. He is survived by his wife, Agnes; two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Richard Ewald of Cincinnati, and Patricia and Tom Musgrave of Montrose, Colo.; and two grandsons. A graveside service was held at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. Arrangements were by the Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold.
George Warren Mr. Warren, 81, of North Brunswick, died Oct. 31, 2006, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Perth Amboy, he resided in North Brunswick the past 30 years. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a communicant of St. Mary of Mount Virgin Roman Catholic Church, New Brunswick. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 6572, North Brunswick. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Zsamboky Warren in 1999. He is survived by two sons, George A. Warren of Ocean, and James Warren of Connecticut; a sister, Lilly Norbut of Matawan; a brother, Harry Warren of Colts Neck; and three grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary's Church. Burial was at Van Liew Cemetery, North Brunswick. Arrangements were by Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Vester Taylor Vester L. Taylor, 74, of Freehold Township, died Nov. 5, 2006, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Hardaway, Ala., he resided in Englishtown before moving to Freehold in 1968. Mr. Taylor was a member of Laborers International Union of North America, Local No. 594, East Brunswick. He was a member of Good News Sound of Pentecost Church, Newark, where he was a deacon and member of the Trustee Board. Surviving are his wife, Jessie R. Mapp Taylor; four sons, James Ballard, Johnny Taylor, Victor Ballard and Kenneth Lester; four daughters, Ruth Billingsley, Jeaneather Taylor, Odessa Taylor, and Janet Ballard Eddings; two brothers, Phillip Taylor and English Taylor Jr.; four sisters, Bernice Unthink, Dorothy Thompson, Maggie Mae Henderson, and Betty Neal; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. The viewing was held at both the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center St., Freehold, and the Good News Sound of Pentecost Church, 455 S. 10th St., Newark. Funeral services were held at the church, followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan. Joseph Piscopo Joseph J. Piscopo, 66, of Port Richey, Fla., died Nov. 7, 2006, at Morton Plant North Bay Hospital, New Port Richey. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Englishtown before moving to Florida in 1987. Before his retirement, Mr. Piscopo was a roofer in the construction industry. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Joellen Piscopo; a brother, James Piscopo of Kosovo; twin sisters, Geri Dalik of Lincoln, Del., and Jeannie Lamberson of Englishtown; and two grandchildren. Arrangements were by the Thomas B. Dobies Funeral Home, New Port Richey.
Charles J. Fazio Mr. Fazio, 72, of Matawan, died Nov. 5, 2006, at Madison Center, Old Bridge. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he resided there prior to moving to Matawan several years ago. He was a retired electrician with Electrician Union Local No. 358, Perth Amboy, where he was employed several years. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. He was predeceased by his wife, Lucille T. Fazio in 1999. He is survived by two sons, Anthony Fazio of South Amboy, and Charles Fazio of Elizabeth; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Larry Newman of Englishtown; a sister, Ellen Forte of New York City; and three grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Joseph's Church, with entombment at the church's cemetery. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.
Harriet Ketcham Harriet E. Ketcham, 77, of Freehold Township, died Nov. 6, 2006, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She was born in Freehold and resided there all her life. She was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Freehold. She was previously employed at the A&M Karagheusian Rug Co., Freehold. Mrs. Ketcham was predeceased by her two sisters, Alma Black and Eleanor Bezanson and one brother, Howard Groth. She is survived by her husband Paul R. Ketcham Sr.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Paul R. Jr. and Penny W. Ketcham of Freehold Borough; David M. and Diane Ketcham of Freehold Borough; a daughter and son-in-law, Patti J. and Charles J. Dill of Freehold Township; a brother, Harry J. Groth of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two sisters, Dorothy J. Jones of Manasquan; Mary C. Quinn of Freehold Township; seven grandchildren,; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Freeman Funeral Home, 47 E. Main St., Freehold. A graveside committal service was held at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 801 Broad St., Shrewsbury, 07702-4201.
Marcia Fisher Deitz Mrs. Deitz, 70, of Jackson Township died Nov. 7, 2006. Born in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn, N.Y., she had lived in Manalapan for 38 years prior to moving to Jackson Township. She was graduate of Erasmus Hall High School, Brooklyn. Mrs. Deitz was involved in New Jersey School Boards for more than 35 years and she served in leadership roles at local, county and state levels. She was a former president of the Monmouth-Ocean Educational Services Commission and vice-president of the Monmouth County Vocational School District. Her legacy lives on in the school named for her in 2000, the Marcia Deitz Learning Center. Marcia was also involved in many local charities and organizations including significant efforts to raise funds to build Freehold Area Hospital, now known as CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Mrs. Deitz is survived by her husband, Sydney; a son and daughter-in-law Robert and Holly Deitz of Millstone; two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Barry Caprioni of Wellington, Fla., and Susan and Andrew Ferrara of Millstone; a brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Lenore Fisher of East Windsor; a sister and brother-in-law, June and Charles Loccisano of the Morganville section of Marlboro; nine grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Services were held at the Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, 44 Wilson Ave., Manalapan. Memorial donations may be made to the Monmouth-Ocean Foundation for the Enhancement of Education.
