Public invited to attend Veterans Day service

The Township Committee is inviting the public to attend the 2006 Freehold Township Veterans Day ceremony to be held at 11 a.m. Nov. 11 at the municipal building, corner of Schanck and Stillwells Corner roads.

The committee announced that the featured speaker for the ceremony will be Maj. Gen. James Livingston, who has earned a Purple Heart, the Medal of Honor, the Defense Meritorious Medal, the Silver Star Medal, the Bronze Star Medal and the Superior Service Medal as well as other service decorations.

"We will gather together to honor those who gave their lives in defense of our right to liberty and the pursuit of happiness," Committeeman David Salkin said.
