Monster Mania comes to town

MANALAPAN - The Manalapan Parks and Recreation Department will host its annual Monster Mania on Oct. 27 at the Manalapan Recreation Center, Route 522 at Taylors Mills Road. The program is open to children ages 2-9.

This year's event will begin with Mad Science putting on a Halloween show at 6 p.m.

A Halloween parade will be held at 6:45 p.m. A costume contest will take place immediately following the parade.

At 7 p.m. the Haunted Happenings will begin. Participants are welcome to make crafts, play games and take pictures with ghosts and goblins (bring your own camera). All participants will receive a goody bag when leaving the program.

Also at 7 p.m., the haunted trail will open for visitors daring enough to enter! Parts of this haunted trail will be very scary and may not be suitable for young children. An exit will be provided prior to entering the more frightening sections.

The entire evening's events will take place at the Manalapan Recreation Center basketball courts. Manalapan Monster Mania is free of charge and will take place rain or shine.

For more information contact the Manalapan Parks and Recreation office, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at (732) 446-8355 or go to www.twp.manalapan.nj.us.
