Pezzullo wants to dedicate herself to improving town

Despite another last minute, desperate attempt by the Democratic political boss, Gerard Ward, to prevent Manalapan from having a choice in selecting a Township Committee candidate, the courts ruled that Nikole Pezzullo resides in Manalapan and therefore is registered and eligible to vote in any election she so chooses in Manalapan.

It was proved that Ms. Pezzullo is an active, professional, single mom who runs her primary residence in Manalapan.

Many residents of townships own more than one property. Some own beach houses, houses in other states and some own rental properties. Owning more than one property is not the basis for determining residency and should not preclude someone from running for office.

Ms. Pezzullo should be commended for voting in the last five or six elections. It is the sign of a good citizen. She exercised her right to vote. It doesn't matter where she voted, only that she voted.

In 1993 I was proud to become an American citizen and given the right to vote in elections in the United States. Remember the Iraqi citizens holding up their purple fingers who traveled hundreds of miles to vote? Even they knew the value of freedom, democracy and the vote.

So this November, you the electorate should make the decision on who will be able to make Manalapan a better township.

Vote for Nikole "Nikki" Pezzullo, an intelligent young woman who wants to dedicate herself to improving the quality-of-life issues facing every resident in Manalapan today as well as in years to come. Exercise your right. Please come out and vote on Nov. 7.
