Auditions

Monmouth Civic Chorus is holding ongoing auditions for experienced singers, by appointment, 7:30-10 p.m. Tuesdays. Auditions and chorus rehearsals are held at Trinity Episcopal Church, 65 W. Allegro!, a 32-member chorus of men and women, is seeking male singers for "The Many Moods of Christmas," a holiday concert that will be presented Dec. 10 at the Algonquin Arts Theatre, Manasquan. Call Wende Deppeler at (732) 528-5945 to schedule an audition.

The Pennington Players will hold auditions for "The Baker's Wife" from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 21, and 7-10 p.m. Oct. 24, at Mercer County Community College, 1200 Old Trenton Road, West Windsor. The cast includes 18 actors, 11 male and seven female. All roles are open. Actors are required to have outstanding comic timing in addition to great singing voices.

Auditioners should prepare one complete song from musical theater and bring sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. Songs that showcase comedic ability are preferred for most roles. All candidates will be asked to dance at the initial audition. A résumé and photo are requested.

Community Ecumenical Choir is seeking choral singers, soprano, alto, tenor, and bass, for Nancy Scharff's Christmas concert, which will be presented at the Count Basie Theatre, Red Bank, Dec. 15 at 8 p.m. Rehearsals will be held in Middletown on Mondays at 7:30 p.m. All adults and teens are welcome to audition. First Avenue Playhouse will hold auditions for its January production of "Animal Crackers" Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. and Oct. 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the Atlantic Highlands Senior Center, First Avenue and Sutton Walk Drive. Marlboro Players will hold auditions for "The King & I" 8-10 p.m. Oct. 23 and 7-10 p.m. Oct. 24 and 25 at Marlboro Middle School, 355 Route 520, Marlboro. All roles are open. Seeking ethnically diverse cast of singers and actors, with a special need for dancers to perform the "Small House of Uncle Thomas Ballet." Male vocal leads should be baritone and legit tenor, and female leads are mezzo and soprano. There is a large children's ensemble for ages 6 and up.
