Goddard families enjoy BBQ

MARLBORO - The PTO of the Goddard School, Route 520, held its first barbecue on Sept. 9 to raise funds to benefit the children attending the school.

According to a press release, the event was made possible through the efforts of many of the Goddard parents, who not only have families to raise, but also full-time jobs. They spent several months organizing the event. The PTO meets on the last Tuesday of each month at the school.

School directors said they were excited to have 110 families attend the festive event. The children enjoyed jumping on the moon bounce, games with a clown, fun with a puppet, having their faces painted and arms tattooed, doing arts and crafts with teachers and snacking at a hot dog wagon. Parents enjoyed music played by a DJ, a tarot card reader, door prizes, food and festivities.

The Goddard School opened in January 2005 and is owned and operated by Carol Vargo. The school accommodates 150 children, ages 6 weeks to 6 years old.

The Goddard School offers a program that focuses on building a strong and balanced foundation of emotional, social, cognitive and physical skills for each child, according to the press release.

Goddard aims to provide children with a nurturing environment and a curriculum that encourages learning through play.

The Goddard School is a nationwide franchise of Goddard Systems Inc., King of Prussia, Pa.
