Therese "Terry" Humenn

Mrs. Humenn, 70, of Old Bridge, died Feb. 23 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. She was the former owner of Gifts and Smiles, Fair Haven and Matawan. She worked as assistant coordinator of arts and crafts at Pine Brook Nursing Home, Englishtown. Surviving are her former husband, Richard F. Humenn of the Whiting section of Manchester; a son, Polar Humenn of Syracuse, N.Y.; two daughters, Susie T. Craig of Point Pleasant and Regina A. Traficante of Brunswick, Ga.; and four grandchildren. A service was held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Sylvia V. Salkin

Mrs. Salkin, 76, a resident of Freehold Township since 1966, died March 5. She was born in New York City. Mrs. Salkin worked for the Central Intelligence Agency in the early 1950s and later worked at the Italian and Turkish embassies in Washington, D.C. She is survived by her husband, Joseph; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Eric A. Salkin, and David M. and Patricia Salkin, and a daughter, Stacey Konig, all of Freehold Township; and five grandchildren. A funeral service was held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township, followed by interment at Freehold Hebrew Cemetery, Freehold. Memorial donations may be made to Camp Quality New Jersey, P.O. Box 351, Adelphia 07710. Camp Quality is a summer camp for children with cancer.

James Joseph Barrett

Mr. Barrett, 75, of Freehold, died March 10 in Freehold. He is survived by a brother, Frank Barrett of Virginia Beach, Va. Funeral arrangements were private and under the direction of the Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold.

Rose Troina

Mrs. Troina, 71, of Lakewood, died March 5 at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. Born in Newark, she had resided in Brick, Seaside Park and North Arlington before moving to Lakewood. She held several positions as an office manager in Monmouth and Ocean counties for more than 30 years, most recently as an office manager for New Jersey Diagnostic Imaging, Toms River, for eight years. Mrs. Troina is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Michael W. and Kimberly Goione of Fair Haven, Steven R. and Terri Lynn Goione of Wilmington, N.C., and Christopher J. and Diane M. Goione of Colts Neck; a brother, Vincent F. Troina of New Jersey; three sisters, Maria T. Rapp and Eleanor T. Wyrich, both of Florida, and Barbara T. Christiansen of Maryland; and seven grandchildren. A funeral service was held at the John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. Interment was private. Memorial donations may be made to Save Barnegat Bay, 906-B Grand Central Ave. (Route 35 north), Lavallette 08735.

Eleanor M. Ur

Mrs. Ur, 93, of Lakewood, died March 8 at Leisure Park Health Center, Lakewood. She was affectionately known as "Aunt Ellie" to her loved ones. Born in Cumberland, Md., she had resided in Washington, D.C., for most of her life, where she had worked as a sales consultant in the crystal and fine china department of a major department store. She had lived in Red Bank before moving to Lakewood 11 years ago. Mrs. Ur was predeceased in 1989 by her husband, John. Surviving are two sisters-in-law, Rose J. DeBartol of Manalapan and Margaret Jensen of the Carteret section of Woodbridge; five nieces; three great-nephews; two great-nieces; and three great-great-nieces. A funeral service was held at Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold. Interment took place the following day at Hazelwood Cemetery, Rahway. Memorial donations may be made to the Deborah Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 820, Browns Mills 08015-0820.

Raymond E. Blatz

Mr. Blatz, 81, of Freehold Township, died March 10 at Pine Brook Care Center, Manalapan. Born in Jersey City, he had lived in Lyndhurst before moving to Freehold Township six years ago. Before his retirement in 1990, Mr. Blatz was a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service at the Dominick Daniels Branch in Kearny. He was a World War II veteran. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Freehold. Mr. Blatz was predeceased by a sister, Evelyn Johnston. He is survived by his wife, Helen; a son and daughter-in-law, Raymond Jr. and Evelyn Blatz of Tinton Falls; two daughters and a son-in-law, Christine and Kevin Belli of Round Hill, Va., and Joan E. Gomez of Mobile, Ala.; a sister, Doris Gonzales of Bridgewater; and three grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. The Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements. Elizabeth R. Bohn

Mrs. Bohn, 86, of Freehold Township, died March 11 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Newport News, Va., she moved with her family to the Freehold area in 1926. She and her husband built their home in 1940. A graduate of Freehold High School, Freehold Borough, she had worked for the law firm of McDermott and Feingold. Mrs. Bohn was predeceased by her husband, Ernest H. Bohn, in 2004 and a daughter, Barbara Wright, in 1996. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Charlene of Columbia, Md.; a son-in-law, Gary Wright of Kensington, Md.; a sister, Rosa Filepp of Colts Neck; and a brother, Paul Rutson of Florida. Services were held privately under the direction of Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold.

Leroy F. Schleentz Jr.

Mr. Schleentz, 82, of Jackson, died March 11 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Farmingdale, he had been a lifelong area resident. He was a self-employed sign maker, and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Surviving are a brother, Warren Schlentz of Greensboro, N.C.; and his companion, Doris Brown of Freehold. Interment took place at Evergreen Cemetery, Farmingdale. Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township, was in charge of arrangements.

John L. Libby

Mr. Libby, 66, of Howell, died March 12 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Point Pleasant, he was a lifelong Howell resident. He was a mold maker for Saint-Gobain Containers, Carteret section of Woodbridge, for 14 years, and had previously worked for Brockway Glass Co., Freehold Township, for 22 years. He was also a member of the Gas Engine Club. Mr. Libby is survived by his wife, Eleanor A. Libby; a son and daughter-in-law, John II and Jennifer Libby of Manchester; a son, Robert Libby of Howell, and his fiance, Stephanie; a brother, Harlan Libby of Morrisville, Pa.; a sister, Carol Dalton of Beachwood; and three grandchildren. A funeral service was held at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township, followed by interment at Evergreen Cemetery, Farmingdale.

William August Nelson

Mr. Nelson, 88, of East Dennis, Mass., died March 7 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. He was born in Rupert, Idaho. Before his retirement in 1983, he was chief maintenance engineer at Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital for 27 years. After his retirement, he moved to East Dennis and worked as a building inspector for the towns of Dennis and Brewster. Mr. Nelson was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, where he served as chief petty officer on the USS Savannah. He is survived by his wife, Eve; a son, Steve Nelson; a daughter and son-in-law, Shawn and Frank Dahlstrom; and four granddaughters. A service will be held April 1 at Brewster Unitarian Church, Brewster.
