Florence E. Barrett

Mrs. Barrett, 96, of Englishtown, died Oct. 2 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in East Orange, she had resided in Warren for 30 years before moving to Englishtown five years ago. Mrs. Barrett was predeceased by her husband, William Barrett, in 1964. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Ron Medeiros of Englishtown; a son and daughter-in-law, Barry W. and Janice Barrett of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Anne Missing of Basking Ridge and Virginia Price of Fort Pierce, Fla.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, Manalapan, followed by interment at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery, Colonia. The Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.

Felicia Marie Davis

Ms. Davis, 38, of Freehold, died Sept. 17 at The Manor, Freehold Township. She was born in Long Branch. Ms. Davis is survived by two sons, Kevin Davis and Christopher Moore; a daughter, Leesie Moore; her mother, Theresa Davis; her grandmother, Ruth Davis; her great-grandmother, Mary Pollard; and a grandchild, LaMyia Henry. Funeral services were held at the Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold.

Wayne Hermanski

Mr. Hermanski, 54, a longtime resident of the Woodbridge State School, died Sept. 19 at Rahway Hospital, Rahway. He was born in Perth Amboy. Mr. Hermanski was predeceased in 1983 by his father, Walter Hermanski. Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Elizabeth and George Pateman; a brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Donna Hermanski of Manalapan; a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Nick Newinski of Freehold; several stepbrothers; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick, followed by interment at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.

Stanley John Pruchnik

Mr. Pruchnik, 93, of Freehold, died Sept. 20 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Windber, Pa., he had resided in Ocala, Fla., before moving to Freehold in 2001. He was a coal miner in Windber and also worked for Bakelite Corp. in Piscataway for several years. With his brother Charlie, Mr. Pruchnik owned and operated the Boat House Tavern in Union Beach for 28 years. He pitched in the Industrial Baseball League for a number of years as well as in the Minor League for the Detroit Tigers in 1937. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Marian Council No. 5960, Ocala. Mr. Pruchnik was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Helen Skripko Pruchnik, in 1998; two sisters, Jane Klein and Wanda Cwiklinski; and a brother, Albert Pruchnik. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Don Bielak of Freehold; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Kathleen Pruchnik of Hazlet, and Richard and MaryAnn Pruchnik of Sanford, N.C.; a brother, Casimir Pruchnik of Middletown; two sisters, Helen Skripko of Piscataway and Stella Smith of Beverly Hills, Fla.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass was celebrated at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. The Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross Katrina Relief Fund, 399 West State St., Trenton 08618.

Kenneth L. Diehl

Mr. Diehl, 72, of Laurence Harbor, died Sept. 30 at Madison Center, Old Bridge. Born in Shamokin, Pa., he resided in Elizabeth before moving to Laurence Harbor 38 years ago. Mr. Diehl was a maintenance mechanic at Russell-Stanley, Woodbridge, for 35 years, retiring in 1998. He served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4247, Keyport, and the Tin Can Sailors Association, Tinton Falls. He was predeceased by a daughter, Arlene Sabine, in 2000. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Seik Diehl; a daughter, Carol Quiroga of Freehold; a son, Michael Diehl of Matawan; a sister, Phyllis Taylor of Shamokin; and two grandchildren. Interment was at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown. The Day Funeral Home, Keyport, was in charge of arrangements.
