Russell C. Kaufmann, son of Cathie C. and Paul J. Kaufmann of Colts Neck, has graduated from the Army ROTC (Reserve Officers’ Training Corps) Leader Development and Assessment Course, a 33-day program also known as “Operation Warrior Forge,” at Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Wash. Kaufmann received professional training and evaluation in the aspects of military life, administration and logistical support. Although continued military training and leadership development are included in the curriculum, the course’s primary focus is to develop and evaluate each cadet’s officer potential as a leader in terms of officer traits, qualities and professionalism. A 2002 graduate of Colts Neck High School, he is attending The Citadel-The Military College of South Carolina, Charleston.

Army Cpl. Neil E. Todaro, son of Kimberley J. Hernandez of Gowanda, N.Y., and Anthony S. Todaro of Freehold, has arrived for duty at the U.S. Army Recruiting Battalion, Syracuse, N.Y. A 2000 graduate of Lake Shore Senior High School, Angola, N.Y., he is a recruiter assigned to Buffalo Co., Cheektowaga, N.Y., and has served in the military for more than two years.

Brian E. Kinsella Jr., son of Helen E. and Brian E. Kinsella of Freehold, has graduated from the Army ROTC (Reserve Officers’ Training Corps) Leader Development and Assessment Course, also known as “Operation Warrior Forge,” at Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Wash. The 33-day program, whose primary focus is to develop and evaluate each cadet’s officer potential as a leader, provides professional training and evaluation for all cadets in the aspects of military life, administration and logistical support. A 2002 graduate of The Peddie School, Hightstown, he attends Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore.

Air Force Cadet Joseph F. Eastman, son of Patricia and Edward Eastman of Colts Neck, has completed basic cadet training and earned the rank of cadet fourth class at the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo. The six-week program prepares cadets to enter their first academic year at the academy. The cadets completed the training in two phases. Phase one consisted of military and physical preparation, which focused on the transition from civilian to military life. Phase two involved three weeks of field training on the academy grounds to participate in activities to extend their physical limitations and build self- and group confidence. Eastman is a 2005 graduate of Colts Neck High School.
