Brookdale Performing Arts Center will hold auditions for “Cabaret With Culinary Confections,” Sept. 12-13 from 7-9 p.m. and Sept. 18 from 1-5 p.m. Individuals should bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided. Rehearsals will begin Sept. 19 and performance dates are Oct. 7, 8, 9, Nov. 4, 5, 6, 18, 19 and 20. The “Cabaret” will chronicle the life and times of Irving Berlin and the repertoire will vary in each weekend showcase and include a selection of perennial favorites in addition to some of the lesser-known material. Arcadian Chorale, a Matawan-based community chorus, is seeking new members, particularly males, to sing in its upcoming program, which includes Bach’s “Christmas Oratorio,” Rutter’s “Magnificat” and Pachelbel’s “Canon in D.” All are welcome to audition on Sept. 13 from 6-7 p.m. at the First Presbyter-ian Church, Route 34 and Franklin Street, Matawan. Temple Shalom Players, Aberdeen, has selected “Oklahoma!” as its next play. Auditions will be held Sept. 25 — 6 p.m. for children and 7 p.m. for teens and adults — and Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. for all ages. Callbacks will be held Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. Performance dates are Jan. 7, 14 and 21 at 8 p.m. and Jan. 8, 15 and 22 at 3 p.m. The temple is at 5 Ayrmont Lane, Aberdeen. Details: (732) 566-2621.
