Herman Krauser

Mr. Krauser, 90, of Manalapan, died May 28 at Brookside Assisted Living, Freehold. Born in Jersey City, he moved to Manalapan 70 years ago and had been a resident of Brookside Assisted Living since March. Mr. Krauser was a teacher for the Jersey City Board of Education for 20 years, retiring in 1982. Before his career in teaching, he owned a children’s shoe store in North Arlington. He was a graduate of Montclair State College, Upper Montclair Mr. Krauser was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, where he fought on the European front and participated in the liberation of concentration camps. He was a member of Temple Beth Shalom, Manalapan, where he was a founding member of Ruach, a group for senior citizens. He was a member of the Jewish War Veterans in Jersey City, the Robert P. Grover Post 10, Freehold B’nai B’rith, and the Lions Club of North Arlington. He also was a volunteer mentor for the Monmouth County juvenile criminal system. Mr. Krauser was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Gertrude, in 2004. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Drs. Paula Krauser-Isaacs and Charles Isaacs, of Manalapan, and two grandchildren. Services were held at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Manalapan, followed by interment at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge. Memorial donations may be made to the Martin and Edith Stein Hospice, 350 Demott Lane, Somerset 08873.

Audrey Dill Noble

Mrs. Noble, 80, of South Amboy, died June 2 at JFK Medical Center, Edison. She was born in South Amboy and had been a lifelong resident. Mrs. Noble was employed at E.I. DuPont & Co., Parlin, during World War II. She was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, South Amboy, where she was a former member of the Altar Rosary Society. She also was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court Sancta Maria No. 382 and the Irish American Association, both in South Amboy. Mrs. Noble was predeceased by her husband, Joseph T. Noble, in March; and by two sisters, Marie Poffenberger and Gertrude Dohaney. Surviving are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Joseph P. Sr. and Mary Kay Noble of Howell, Michael E. and Lisa Noble, and Mark Noble, all of South Amboy; a daughter, Noreen Besner of South Amboy; and five grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, followed by interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery, South Amboy. The Gundrum Service Home for Funerals, South Amboy, was in charge of arrangements.

Maude Dunn

Mrs. Dunn, 101, of Freehold Township, died June 3 at Applewood Estates, Freehold Township. Born in Lockport, N.Y., she had lived in Olivia, N.C., and Bloomfield before moving to Freehold Township 10 years ago. Mrs. Dunn was a hospital laboratory technician before her marriage to Theodore Beitel Dunn, M.D. Her husband died in 1994. Mrs. Dunn is survived by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, followed by interment at Hackensack Cemetery, Hackensack.

Lucy L. Serravillo

Mrs. Serravillo, 94, of Manalapan, died June 2 at Liberty Manor Assisted Living Residence, Manalapan. Born in Newark, she had lived in Florida and Middletown before moving to Englishtown four years ago. She was a clerk at Acme Markets, Chatham, for many years. She was also a seamstress and a volunteer at Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Mrs. Serravillo was predeceased by her first husband, Larry Leone, and her second husband, Charles Serravillo; two sisters, Antoinette Leone and Angelina Villano; two brothers, Philip and Harry Visco; and a grandson, Paul Leone. Surviving are a daughter, Rosemarie Hemmendinger of Marlboro; a son, Lawrence Leone of West Palm Beach, Fla.; three brothers, John, Ralph and Carmen Visco; two sisters, Marie Sulley and Anne Mendolia; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, Manalapan, followed by entombment at Forest Lawn Central Mausoleum, Fort Lauderdale. Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan, was in charge of arrangements.

Ruth Mae Stelle

Mrs. Stelle, 76, of Manalapan, died June 2 at home. Born in Flagler, Colo., she had lived in Manalapan for six years and had previously resided in Lancaster, Pa. She was an active member of Christian Neighbors in Covered Bridge, Manalapan. Mrs. Stelle was predeceased in 1998 by her husband of 50 years, Robert Westbrook Stelle. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and John Mottola of Belford; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Mary Stelle of North Smithfield, R.I.; five grandchildren, including granddaughter Michelle Conti and her husband, Christian, of Hazlet; and a great-granddaughter. A funeral service was held at King of Kings Lutheran Church, Middletown, followed by burial at Fair View Cemetery, also Middletown. John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown, was in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society (Eastern Division), 801 Broad St., Shrewsbury 07702.

George W. Sampson

Mr. Sampson, 67, of Manalapan, died June 3 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was born in New York City and had lived in Manalapan Township since 1976. Mr. Sampson was a supervisor for AT&T, retiring in 1994. After retirement, he operated George’s Help, a computer consulting firm. He was a 25-year member of the Gordons Corner Fire Company, Manalapan, where he served as chief of the Fire Police and was company photographer. He was also a charter member of the Jackson Heights Volunteer Ambulance Corps in Queens, N.Y. Mr. Sampson is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Roseann Sampson of Middletown; a daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Bill Campbell of Jackson; and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan.

Elizabeth Mueller

Mrs. Mueller, 89, of Applewood Estates, Freehold Township, died June 5 at home. She was born in Rockaway. An alumna of Trenton State Teachers College (now The College of New Jersey), Ewing, and Newark State Teachers College, Mrs. Mueller was a kindergarten teacher in Rockaway and Newark from 1943 until she retired in 1970. Following her retirement, she volunteered in kindergarten and first-grade classrooms for many years. Mrs. Mueller is survived by her husband of 55 years, Thomas Mueller; a stepson, Robert Mueller of Olmstead, N.Y.; her godson, Nicholas Pace; two step-grandchildren; a nephew; two nieces; three grandnephews; and one grandniece. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Robert Bellarmine Roman Catholic Church, Freehold Township. The Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements. Emilie Harding Reed Buck

Mrs. Buck, of Freehold, died June 6. Born in Morristown in 1906, she was a graduate of Friends Seminary, New York, and Douglass College, New Brunswick. Mrs. Buck was an active supporter of The League of Women Voters, Planned Parenthood, the Girl Scouts, Freehold Community Housing and the Democratic Party. Surviving are three daughters, Rachel R. Buck of Concord, N.H.; Gertrude B. Wiant of St. Louis, Mo., and Emilie B. Turano of Somerville, Mass.; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mary Ann Svizeny

Mrs. Svizeny, 51, of Freehold, died June 6 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Neptune, she was a lifelong resident of Freehold. Mrs. Svizeny was an office manager for I.P.P.C., Marlboro. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Freehold, and a graduate of Red Bank Catholic High School, Red Bank. She was a member of the Basset Hound Club of America, where she was the corresponding secretary and a past health chairperson; and a member of the Berkshire Valley Basset Hound Club, Hudson Valley Tracking Club and the Lenape Tracking Club. Mrs. Svizeny is survived by her husband, Anthony P. Svizeny; a brother, Michael Giglio Jr.; and two nephews. The Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements. Anita Silk

Mrs. Silk, 86, of Tinton Falls, died June 8 at Renaissance Gardens at Seabrook Village, Tinton Falls. Born in Irvington, she had lived in Middlesex before moving to Tinton Falls three years ago. Mrs. Silk was an executive secretary for Midland Ross, South Bound Brook, before her retirement. She was a former communicant of Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, Middlesex, where she was active in many church organizations. She was predeceased by her husband, Norman Silk, in 1999. Mrs. Silk is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Mary Pat Silk of Freehold; and two grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Freehold, followed by interment at Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway. Memorial donations may be made to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Monmouth Medical Center, 300 Second Ave., Long Branch 07740. The Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.

Sophie Weinman

Mrs. Weinman, 87, died June 9 at Regency Park Nursing Center, Hazlet. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she had resided in the Covered Bridge section of Manalapan. Prior to retiring in the early 1970’s, she was employed by A&S department store, Brooklyn, as an administrative assistant. Mrs. Weinman was predeceased by her first husband, Harry Weinman; her second husband, George Zeller; and a daughter, Tedi Beth Kenoff. Surviving are a son-in-law, Gary Kenoff of Old Bridge; a stepsister, Barbara Starr; and two grandchildren, Eric and Andrea Kenoff. Graveside services were held at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge. Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Manalapan, was in charge of arrangements.

Grace J. and Anthony S. Renna Sr.

Mr. and Mrs. Renna, of Spotswood, formerly of Old Bridge, died June 3. Surviving are three sons, Guy of Brooklyn, N.Y., John of Hazlet and Anthony Jr. of Manalapan; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Mr. Renna also is survived by a brother, Angelo Renna of Staten Island, N.Y., and a sister, Anna McNally of Florida. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in St. Gabriel’s Cemetery, Marlboro.

Mary Lorraine Carey Moran

Mrs. Moran, 72, of Sayreville, died June 2 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are her husband, John; four children, Deborah Russo of Freehold, Dennis of Sayreville, Doreen Michalak, also of Sayreville, and Diane Randazzo of the Toms River section of Dover; and seven grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Interment was in New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin section of Sayreville.

Sara Blinderman

Ms. Blinderman, 88, of Manalapan, died June 11 at Summerhill Nursing Home, Old Bridge. Born in Jersey City, she had been a resident of Manalapan for 15 years. Ms. Blinderman was the owner of Ray’s Dress Shop, Jersey City. She is survived by two brothers, William and Irving Blinderman; and a sister, Fay Steinberg. Chapel services were held at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Manalapan, followed by interment at King Solomon Cemetery, Clifton. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Association, 225 N. Thelma L. Chessare

Mrs. Chessare, 82, of Manalapan, died June 12 at The Chelsea at Manalapan. Born in Carneys Point, she had resided in Freehold for 27 years before moving to Manalapan two years ago. Together with her husband, she was the owner of PC Quick Printers, Ocean Township. Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Paul Chessare; a son and daughter-in-law, Paul Jr. and Margery Chessare of Greenfield, N.Y.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Alan Bachrach of France, and Laura and Robert Pizanie of Howell; a sister, Jeanne Bobbitt of Penns Grove; and two grandchildren, Lisa Bachrach and Daniel Chessare. A graveside service was held at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown. Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.
