County fire academy graduates 59 volunteers

The Monmouth County Fire Academy, Howell, recently graduated 59 volunteers from two Firefighter I classes. The ceremonies were held May 21 and 22. The firefighters attended weekend classes beginning in February and logged more than 130 hours of course work. They received training in rescue, fire extinguishment, hazardous materials response, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, electrical safety, and care of hoses and other equipment.

The graduates from the local area are: Ryan V. Barba, Salvatore V. Domingo, Joseph J. Gurrieri, Daniel J. Rehberg, Frank J. Verrico and Bryan Truszkowski, all of Manalapan; Vito S. DeMartino and James M. Jerome, of Howell; William M. Scanlon and Ashley L. LaBarbera, of Freehold; Steve Spano of Freehold Township; Thomas G. Weldon III of Marlboro; and Sean J. Polito of Colts Neck.
