Ann “Nancy” McGrath

Mrs. McGrath, of Manalapan, died March 28 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in New York City, she moved to Manalapan 40 years ago and was a communicant of St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, Manalapan. She enjoyed vacationing at the Jersey Shore, taking trips to Atlantic City and seeing Broadway shows. Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Martin W. McGrath; seven sons and two daughters-in-law, Michael McGrath of Toms River, Martin and Antonia McGrath of Barnegat, Steven McGrath of Miami Beach, Thomas McGrath of Plainfield, and Kevin and Susan McGrath, Brian McGrath and Gregg McGrath, all of Manalapan; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kelley and Ben Cardullo of Toms River and Anne Marie and Robert Wright of Brick; a sister, Jeanne Jennings of Bristol, Conn.; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Thomas More Church, followed by interment at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.

Theresa Kinahan

Mrs. Kinahan, of Freehold Township, died March 31 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Ireland, she had lived in Elizabeth and Linden before moving to Freehold Township eight years ago. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Freehold, and St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in Elizabeth. Mrs. Kinahan was predeceased in 2001 by her husband, Henry (Harry) F. Kinahan. Surviving are two sons, James Kinahan of Branchburg and Jack Kinahan of Linden; two daughters, Eileen Mantella of Marlboro and Nancy Seibert of Hillsborough; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Rose of Lima Chapel, followed by entombment at St. Gabriel’s Mausoleum, Marlboro. Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan, was in charge of arrangements.

Albert Ley

Mr. Ley, 91, of South Plainfield, died April 10 at Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center, Edison. Born in Newark, he had lived in South Plainfield for most of his life. Before retiring in 1973, Mr. Ley was a lineman for New Jersey Bell Telephone Co., Plainfield, for 39 years, and was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. A World War II veteran, he served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was predeceased in 1999 by his wife, Lillian Mae “Gretchen” (née Smith) Ley. Surviving are two daughters, Linda Moore of Bethlehem, Pa., and June Adolfsen of Howell; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held at Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge. Cremation was private.

Ellen Orlofsky Berrol

Mrs. Berrol, 56, of Manalapan, died April 11 in Cancun, Mexico. Born in the Bronx, N.Y., she had resided in Queens, N.Y., for seven years before moving to Manalapan 27 years ago. An avid reader, she was an editor early in her career. She was a congregant of Temple Rodeph Torah, Marlboro. Surviving are her husband of 35 years, Steven Berrol; a son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Kara Berrol of Owings Mills, Md.; a daughter, Dena Berrol of Manalapan; a brother and sister-in-law, Stephen Orlofsky and Charlotte K. Gaal of Cherry Hill; two aunts and uncles, Miriam and Bernard Beyman of Wilton, Conn., and Joyce and Seymour Simon of Great Neck, N.Y.; and two grandchildren, Ashley and Brooke Berrol. Funeral services were held at Temple Rodeph Torah, followed by interment at Cedar Park Cemetery, Paramus. Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick, was in charge of arrangements. Mary R. Driver

Mrs. Driver, 92, of Manalapan, died April 11 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Manalapan, she was a lifelong area resident. She was a member of St. James African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E.) Church, Manalapan, where she served as a trustee and secretary, as well as a member of the pastor’s Steward Board. She was also a past president of the church’s Women’s Missionary Society. Mrs. Driver is survived by a brother, John S. Tyler Sr. of Nashville, N.C. Funeral services were held at St. James A.M.E. Church, followed by interment at the church cemetery. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.

Edi Adilio Quijada

Edi Adilio Quijada, 16, of Freehold, died April 11 at home. Born in Chiquimula, Guatemala, he was a sophomore at Freehold High School, Freehold Borough. Surviving are his parents, Esby Quijada and Arminba Lily Durate Beza Quijada; and a sister, Monica, at home. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements. Interment will be held in Guatemala.

Loretta Styczynski

Mrs. Styczynski, 85, of Marlboro, died April 12 at The Manor Care Center, Freehold Township. Born in New York City, she had lived in Brooklyn, N.Y., before moving to Marlboro in 1987. Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Walter; two sons and daughters-in-law, Walter and Diane of Freehold Township and Roger and Marianne of Hazlet; a daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Robert Siniscalchi of Manalapan; two brothers, John Carnevale of Brooklyn and Vincent Carnevale of Long Island, N.Y.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Gabriel’s Historic Church, Marlboro, followed by entombment at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan, was in charge of arrangements.

Emma V. Sickles Mongold

Mrs. Mongold, 72, of Matawan, died April 14 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Flushing, N.Y., she had resided in Whitestone, N.Y., before moving to Matawan in 1963. Mrs. Mongold was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband, William Mongold; four daughters, Katherine Alfieri of Hamilton Square, Judi Grobosky of Wall, Debra McTaggart of Freehold and Lori McCauley of Red Bank; two sons, William Mongold of Forked River and Glenn Mongold of North Plainfield; two sisters, Lillian Stalleto of California and Margie Veteri of Pompton Lakes; a brother, Frederick Sickles of Florida; and six grandchildren. The Day Funeral Home, Keyport, was in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 1600 Route 22 East, Union 07083.

Eleanor M. Orsetti

Mrs. Orsetti, 93, of Freehold Township, died April 14 at The Manor Care Center, Freehold Township. Born in New York City, she had lived in Brooklyn, N.Y., and Manalapan before moving to Freehold Township eight years ago. She was a communicant of St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, Manalapan. Mrs. Orsetti was predeceased in 1975 by her husband, Olinto C. Orsetti. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert F. and Marian Orsetti of Manalapan and Gary C. and Kathleen Orsetti of Red Bank; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, followed by a funeral liturgy at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Hightstown. Interment took place at Pinelawn Cemetery, Farmingdale, N.Y. Memorial donations may be made to The Manor, c/o North Nursing Station, 689 W. Main St., Freehold 07728.

Max Brudner

Mr. Brudner, 86, of Marlboro, died April 6 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He had resided in Marlboro for many years and was an inspector for the New York State Building Department. An Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Brudner was a member of the Marlboro Planning Board and the Marlboro Swim Club Committee; a trustee of the Marlboro Republican Club; a board member of the Brookdale Community College World War II museum (Center for World War II Studies), Lincroft section of Middletown; a former senior vice commander of Manalapan-Marlboro Jewish War Veterans Post 972 (now Jewish War Veterans Lt. Seth Dvorin Post 972); and a vice president of the Fort Monmouth Chapter Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge. Surviving are his wife, Marilyn; three daughters and a son-in-law, Wendy Lurie, Ilene Brudner, and Barbara and Lawrence Sarnelli; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services were held at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Manalapan.
