      Gertrude Teal

      Ms. Teal, 57, of Freehold Township, died June 23 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Germany, she had been a resident of Freehold Township for the past 34 years. Ms. Teal is survived by two sons and a daughter, Thomas Rocco and Steven Teal, and Toni Baker, all of Freehold Township. A graveside service will be held June 30 at 10 a.m. at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan. The Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold, is in charge of arrangements.

      Francis “Fran” J. Tanguay

      Mr. Tanguay, 75, of Middletown, died June 26 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in New Britain, Conn., he resided there prior to moving to Middletown 45 years ago. He was a salesman at Monmouth Building Center, Middletown, for five years, retiring in 1999. Prior to that, he was employed in sales at Eagle Tools, Newark, for 20 years, and Stanley Tools, New Britain, Conn., for 26 years. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a communicant of St. Catharine’s Roman Catholic Church, Holmdel. He was predeceased by three sisters, Mary Jackson, Nan Brysgel and Helen Marcot; and two brothers, Alfred Tanguay and Jack Tanguay. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Vivian Sullivan Tanguay; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Kirk Metcalf of Great Falls, Conn.; a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Dorothy Tanguay of Freehold; two brothers, Joseph Tanguay of New Britain, Conn., and James Tanguay of Weathersfield, Conn.; and four grandchildren. Visitation will be June 29 from 4-7 p.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A funeral gathering will be June 30 at 8:15 a.m. at the funeral home, followed at 9 a.m. by a funeral liturgy at St. Catharine’s Church. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.

      Philip Flavin

      Mr. Flavin, 56, of Jackson, died June 14 at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. Born in Troy, N.Y., he had lived in Alaska for 20 years before moving to New Jersey 10 years ago. A graduate of the University of Alaska, Anchorage, he was a custodian for the Howell school district for the past year. While living in Alaska, he had owned and operated the Independent Security Co. in Anchorage, where he was also a counselor at North Star Hospital. Mr. Flavin was an associate member of the Jackson Veterans of Foreign Wars post; a member of the National Rifle Association and the Thunderbird Automobile Club; and a former member of the Future Farmers of America (now the National FFA Organization). Surviving are his mother, Emma Relyea Flavin of Jackson; two brothers, Bruce R. Flavin of Jacksonville, Fla., and Frank M. Flavin of Reno, Nev.; a sister, Audrey H. Troise of Jackson; and seven nieces and nephews. Memorial services were held at Higgins memorial home, Freehold. Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Indian School, Chamberlain, SD 57326.

      Rosemarie Watt

      Mrs. Watt, 63, of Howell, died June 17 at St. Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston. Born in Passaic, she had lived in Saddle Brook before moving to Howell 23 years go. Mrs. Watt was a medical coder at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood, for many years before retiring eight months ago. She was a former member of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Passaic. Mrs. Watt is survived by her husband of 45 years, James R. Watt Sr.; two sons, James. R. Watt Jr. of Smithville and Roy P. Watt of Howell; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gina M. and Howard Puglia of Brick, and Bridget H. and Thomas Serzan of Howell; one nephew; and seven grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Dominic’s Roman Catholic Church, Brick, followed by entombment at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River. The O’Brien Funeral Home, Brick, was in charge of arrangements.
