Adult mentors sought for local children

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Monmouth County is looking for adults and married couples to become volunteer mentors to local children.

“These children are primarily from one-parent homes, where they need and want traditional adult companionship and friendship in their lives,” said Executive Director Debi Heptig in a press release.

Mentors are asked to make a commitment to spend time with a child, either weekly or biweekly, for at least one year. Each adult/child match is assigned to a BBBS staff person who offers support throughout the year. In addition, BBBS sponsors many recreational, educational and community service activities for matches to participate in. For more information, call (732) 544-2224.
