Phyllis M. “Kiki” Mannino

Miss Mannino, 42, of Middletown and Williamstown, died Oct. 10, following a lengthy illness. She was born in Red Bank. She is survived by her parents, Marline and Phil Mannino, of Middletown; a brother and sister-in-law, Vincent and Donna Mannino, of Howell; a niece; and a nephew. Visitation will be Oct.. 13 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A funeral gathering will be Oct. 14 at 8:45 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a funeral liturgy at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.

Wayne Marinelli

Mr. Marinelli, 42, of Arizona, formerly of Monmouth County, died Oct. 4 after a year-long battle with brain cancer. Also known as the “Food Doctor,” Mr. Marinelli was a vegan chef. He was a 1979 graduate of Freehold Regional High School and earned a degree in forestry from West Virginia University, Morgantown. He is survived by his father, Joseph Marinelli of Arizona; his mother, Angela Linder of Georgia; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Jayne, his twin, and Vincent Boswell, of Georgia, and Gina Coursen of Bergen County; a brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Betsi Marinelli of California; two aunts and an uncle, Phyllis Scarlini of Howell, and Dr. Larry and Joan Marinelli of California; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A sunrise memorial service will be held Oct. 20 on the beach in Manasquan. For information on the memorial service, call (732) 683-9372. Joseph Borodunovich

Mr. Borodunovich, 76, of Freehold, died Sept. 21 in Cape Coral, Fla. Born in Trenton, he had lived in Englishtown and Colts Neck before moving to Freehold 32 years ago. Prior to retiring 14 years ago, he was a night-crew chief for Foodarama ShopRite, Freehold Township, for 30 years. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, he was predeceased in 1991 by his wife, Rosemary DeVitis Borodunovich. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph K. and Ellen Borodunovich, of the Morganville section of Marlboro, and Kevin L. and Nancy Borodunovich, of Cape Coral; and five grandchildren. A memorial service was held at Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, followed by interment of cremains at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. Memorial donations may be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, 1 Hanover Park, 16633 N. Dallas Parkway, Suite 600, Addison, TX 75001.

Ralph B. Caliendo

Mr. Caliendo, 87, of Hazlet, died Sept. 24 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he had resided in Matawan and Keyport before moving to Hazlet 45 years ago. Mr. Caliendo was a machine shop foreman at Bendix Corp., Red Bank and Eatontown, where he was employed 48 years before retiring. He was a communicant of St. Benedict’s Roman Catholic Church, Holmdel, where he was an usher. He was predeceased by three brothers, Pascquale, Salvatore and Thomas Caliendo; and two sisters, Rose Granato and Theresa Della Pietro. Mr. Caliendo is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Sannelli Caliendo; a daughter and son-in-law, Caroline and Joseph Ricca, of Hazlet; two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Debra Caliendo, Aberdeen, and Ralph and Kathleen Caliendo, Old Bridge; a brother, John Caliendo Sr., Morganville; and nine grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Benedict’s Church, followed by interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Keyport. The Day Funeral Home, Keyport, was in charge of arrangements.

Vincent “Vic” D. Ulatowski

Mr. Ulatowski, 85, of Englishtown, died Sept. 29 at home. Born in Harrison, he had lived in Englishtown since 1933. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a radar operator for Battery C, 355th Coastal Artillery Brigade, who participated in campaigns in Italy and North Africa. In 1945, he was honorably discharged as a sergeant. After the war, he was employed by Washington Forge, Englishtown, as a machinist. In the early 1950s, he began working with his brother, Frank, at Frank’s Auto Repairs, also in Englishtown, as a mechanic before retiring in the 1990s. He was predeceased by two brothers, Frank and Leo Ulatowski. Surviving are a sister-in-law, Olga Ulatowski, of Englishtown; two cousins, Bert Dudkin, of Englishtown, and Agnes Cworkowski, of Jackson; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township.

Barbara Gail Kaplan

Mrs. Kaplan, 47, of Howell, died Oct. 6 at Toms River Community Hospital. Born in East Orange, she resided in Howell the past 19 years. She was an accountant at Fort Monmouth, Eatontown, the past 20 years. She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Allan Kaplan; a daughter, Dana Kaplan, of Howell; her father, Ronald Humphries, of Hazlet; two brothers, Richard Humphries and Thomas Humphries, both of Hazlet; and several nieces and nephews. Entombment was at St. Joseph’s Mausoleum, Keyport. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
