Don’t buy near a drag strip if you don’t like noise

This is in regard to a letter written by Manalapan resident Rob Cher-vin about the “noise problem” at Raceway Park. Personally I am so sick and tired of hearing people complain about the noise level from Raceway Park.

Yes, Raceway Park was there first, before all these large housing developments were built.

When buyers bought their houses in the area of the raceway they knew that a raceway was there and if they had any brains they wouldn’t have bought a house there in the first place.

It makes me very angry that people from out of state buy these homes near the raceway and then complain they want it shut down. The point is that if you didn’t want to live in an area that was noisy, why did you buy a house near Raceway Park?

It’s common sense people. If you are not interested in hearing the noise from the drag strip, simple, don’t buy a house near it.

I can hear the park from my home in Freehold and in all honesty it is nice to hear. I personally don’t mind the noise and if anything it’s better to have people racing in a regulated enclosed area then on a major highway. As everyone has their opinion, I have mine and I resent out-of-state people who move here, overcrowd our roads and complain about things that have been here way before they ever thought of moving to New Jersey.

I totally agree with what Mr. Chervin was told at a meeting — “Move out or build a sound wall around your home” — and that’s my opinion, like it or not.
