Comic book illustrator
to be at Raceway Mall

Local illustrator/artist Tom Grindberg, of Freehold, whose work has appeared in Marvel Comics and D.C. Comics, will be in the local area signing posters he designed for the 40th anniversary of Marvel Origins. Grindberg’s work has also appeared in New York Newsday, and he won a graphic journalism award from The Associated Press. He has been associated with D.C. Comics for 23 years, and has illustrated such characters as Silver Surfer, DareDevil, Green Lantern, Batman, Superman, and Conan the Barbarian. He also was tapped to redesign the new Six Flags Batman theme show backdrop featuring Catwoman. He is now working for the producers of the next Batman movie, slated for 2005.

Grindberg will be in front of Zapp Comics at Freehold Raceway Mall, Freehold Township, July 3 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The event coincides with Free Comic Book Day and the release of Spiderman 2. Zapp Comics will be handing out free comics to children all day.
