Obituaries Mr. Coel, 70, of Dothan, Ala., formerly of Englishtown, died Jan. 21 at home in Dothan. Born in Englishtown, he had resided in Dothan for most of his life and was a retired U.S. Army veteran who had served for 23 years. For 16 years, he worked for the United Parcel Service (UPS) in Dothan. He was predeceased by his parents, Bessie and Henry Cole; four sisters, Frances, Betty, Beatrice and Mary; and two brothers, George and Jack. Surviving are his wife, Climmie Jo; three daughters, Sherry and Mechill, both of Texas, and Sharon of Dothan; a son, Michael of Dothan; a brother, Robert of Jamesburg; five grandchildren; a great-grandson; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. George Sulikowski Mr. Sulikowski, 65, of Perth Amboy died Jan. 29 at home. Surviving are three daughters, Sharon Bialecki of Manahawkin, Stacey Sulikowski of Tampa, Fla., and Sandra Lorentzen of Tuckerton; his mother, Aleksandra Sulikowski of Manalapan; three sisters, Honorata Sakowski of Jackson, Genevieve Klajn of Sayreville and Hedi Horvath of Manalapan; a brother, William of Manalapan; and six grandchildren. Services were held at Maliszewski Memorial Home, Sayreville. Cremation was private. Frank Lipari Mr. Lipari, 64, of Toms River died Feb. 1 at Community Medical Center, Dover Township. Born in New York City, he had served in the U.S. Army from 1957-59, and for the past 12 years was a security guard at Freehold Raceway. Services were held at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements. Constance "Connie" M. Rogers Mrs. Rogers, 85, of Cinnaminson, formerly of Freehold and Farmingdale, died Feb. 3 at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. Born in Keyport, she had lived in Freehold and then Farmingdale for 42 years before moving to Cinnaminson in 2002. She was a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Farmingdale, and a member and former grand regent of Catholic Daughters of America, Colts Neck. She was a teacher for the Farmingdale Board of Education, then taught nursery school for 30 years at the Prince of Peace Nursery School, Howell, retiring in 1998. She was predeceased in 1978 by her husband, Raymond. Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Joy M. and Carmen Andretta Jr. of Marietta, Ga., Rae Marie and James Gibson of Howell, and Connie M. and Charles Bluhm of Cinnaminson; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass was offered at St. Catherine of Siena Church, followed by interment, which was private. The C.H.T. Charles H. Hartman Mr. Hartman, 92, of Howell, died Feb. 4 at Neptune Rehabilitation & Care Center. Born in Freehold Township, he was a truck driver for George Mueller Construction, Manasquan, for 25 years. He was predeceased in 1986 by his first wife, Clara, and in 1997 by his second wife, Palma. Surviving are two sons, Charles Hartman Jr. and Ray L. Hartman, both of Rogers, Ark., and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held at the C.H.T. Clayton & Son Funeral Home, Adelphia section of Howell, followed by burial at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. Wilton D. Hill Mr. Hill, 85, of Freehold died Feb. 4 at Bartley Health Care Nursing & Rehabilitation, Jackson. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he had lived there before moving to Freehold 27 years ago. He was a cutter for Halpern & Christenfeld Inc., New York City, for 35 years prior to retiring in 1983. A World War II U.S. Army veteran, he was a member of the Knights of Pythians and the Jewish War Veterans. He was predeceased by his wife, Harriet, in 1995 and a sister, Marion Hill. Surviving are two daughters, Diane Cedar of Manalapan and Leslie Goldenberg of Randolph; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services were held at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Manalapan. Shiva was observed at the Cedar residence. Harvey Teicher Mr. Teicher, 84, of Freehold died Feb. 4 at home. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he grew up in Newark and had lived in Matawan before moving to Freehold a few months ago. He had taught accounting at the Essex College of Business, Newark, and prior to that was a financial officer for General Gummed Products, Linden. A U.S. Army veteran who served during World War II, he loved to travel and also enjoyed theater and singing. He was active in the Newark "Y," where he acted in many plays, and was a member of Temple Beth Ahm, Aberdeen. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Mildred (née Samuels) Teicher; two daughters, Linda Milstein of Princeton and Gail Fellus of Metuchen; a sister, Ruth Wolf of Westfield; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Goldstein Funeral Chapel Inc., Edison, followed by interment at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, Iselin. Gloria Jean Briggs-Lida Mrs. Briggs-Lida, 56, of Freehold died Feb. 5 at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, New York City. Born in Shaw, Miss., she was a New Jersey resident for more than 35 year. She was a homemaker and an interior decorator. She was also a member of Order of the Eastern Star. She was predeceased by her parents, Glide and Frank Briggs; two sisters, Bernice Atkins and Johnnie Lida; and a brother, Frank Briggs Jr. Surviving are her husband, Clarence Lida; two sisters, Ruth Jackson of Freehold and Bessie Valentine of Clarksdale, Miss.; three brothers, Wilson Briggs of Asbury Park, Harry Briggs of Ancora and Dawud Saleem of Neptune; 10 children, Trenton Briggs, Chrisler Briggs of High Point, N.C., Calvin Briggs of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Gloria Michelle Briggs of Manassas, Va., and Mitchell Briggs, Cleone Briggs, Doris Briggs, Rita Briggs, Elvia Briggs and Ernest Briggs, all of Asbury Park; two stepdaughters, Anisha Williams of Asbury Park and Vanessa McCrae of Pahokee, Fla.; and 26 grandchildren. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements. Bernice Ramsdale Rifenburg Mrs. Rifenburg, 79, of Matawan died Feb. 5 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Toronto, she resided in Jersey City and Keansburg prior to moving to Matawan 35 years ago. She was an office manager at Sayreville Medical Group, retiring in 1990. Mrs. Rifenburg was predeceased by her husband, William Rifenburg, in 1990. She is survived by two sons, Rich Rifenburg of Freehold and Robert Rifenburg of Matawan; three grandchildren; and one nephew. Interment was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport. Irma Melasippo Angeline Mrs. Angeline, 96, of Freehold died Feb. 6 at Mountainside Hospital, Montclair. Born in Italy, she resided in Freehold for 12 years. She was predeceased in 1964 by her husband, Victor Angeline Sr. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Victor Angeline Jr. and Bernadette Angeline of Old Bridge; a sister, Edith Cappadano; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick, followed by a funeral Mass at St. Rose of Lima Church, East Hanover. Burial was at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, also in East Hanover. |
