Freehold Borough After observing a vehicle being operated in an erratic manner at the intersection of Broadway and Fulton Street on Nov. 20 at 11:40 p.m., police charged Gregory Chavers, 21, of Freehold Township, with driving while intoxicated. He was processed and released. Charges of possession of under 50 grams of a controlled dangerous substance believed to be marijuana and contempt of court were lodged against Robin Lynn Kelly, 23, of Freehold Borough, on Avenue A on Nov. 22 at 4:45 a.m. Police said Kelly was taken to the Monmouth County jail, Freehold Township, in default of bail set at $4,497. Officers responded to a disturbance in the Market Yard parking lot on Nov. 27 at 10:50 p.m. Police said officers spoke with a man who advised them that two friends had a verbal disagreement. Police said the officers attempted to speak with both parties involved. One party cooperated, according to police, while the other became agitated and refused to cooperate with the investigation. Police said Andrea Dematteo, 27, of Jersey City, continued to rekindle the dispute after being repeatedly warned by police not to do so. She was arrested and charged with obstruction of the administration of the law. A "Big" motorcycle was reported to have been stolen sometime overnight on Nov. 22 or Nov. 23. Police said the vehicle was parked at the Monmouth Village apartments, Park Avenue. The incident remains under investigation. Charges of driving while intoxicated were lodged against Patrick Taylor, 21, of Freehold Township, on South Street at 1:55 a.m. Nov. 29. Police said Taylor was observed driving his vehicle in an erratic manner and crossing the double yellow line. He was stopped on South Street, arrested, processed and released. Charges of criminal mischief and disorderly conduct were lodged against Enrique Estabar Fernandez, 28, of Freehold Borough, on Mechanic Street at 2:15 a.m. Nov. 29. Police said Fernandez knocked over several garbage cans and broke several planters on the street. He was also arrested on outstanding Freehold Borough warrants. He was taken to the Monmouth County jail, Freehold Township, in default of $2,685. After receiving information from an informant, officers found a 12-gauge pump shotgun with a pistol grip in the area of the railroad tracks by Marcy Street on Dec. 2 at 6:45 p.m. The gun’s serial number had been filed off. The gun was secured and police are now in the process of attempting to determine the last known owner of the weapon. Freehold Township Freehold Township police charged Richard G. Koehler of Freehold with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), hindering apprehension, obstruction of justice and a parole violation at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 28 at Route 33 and Crow Hill Road. Koehler was processed and lodged in jail with bail set at $5,105. In the same incident, police charged Lori Ritz of Freehold with possession of CDS, hindering apprehension and on a contempt of court warrant. Ritz was processed and released. Freehold Township police charged Michael Scotto of Howell with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and unlawful possession of a weapon (a straight edge razor) at 1:03 p.m. Nov. 29 at Route 9 and Jackson Mills Road. Scotto was processed and released. An Apple Powerbook laptop computer was reported to have been removed from a home on Bainbridge Way. Officers responded to the home at 9:02 a.m. Nov. 26. Police said entry may have been gained through a sliding door. Police arrested two people following an incident at Marshall’s, Trotters Way, at 12:05 p.m. Nov. 26. Police charged Darryl (Darrel) Rasul of Elizabeth with theft and on outstanding warrants. Rasul was placed in the Monmouth County jail, Waterworks Road, in default of $7,500. Police charged Tyrone (Derrick) Knight of Newark with conspiracy, on outstanding warrants and with being a wanted person from East Orange on a robbery charge. Knight was placed in the Monmouth County jail in default of $2,500 bail. A cell caller reported to Marlboro police at 2:16 p.m. Nov. 25 that a school bus pulled into the parking lot of the YMCA of Western Monmouth County, East Freehold Road, with a sign in the rear window saying, "Help, we are being kidnapped." Freehold Township officers responded and determined that a female high school freshman put the sign in the window as a joke. According to information provided by police, the matter will be handled by the YMCA and the bus company. Three male juveniles were arrested at Freehold Township High School, Elton-Adelphia Road, at 5 p.m. Nov. 25 and charged with being in possession of alcohol at the school. Manalapan Unknown persons threw landscaping stones at the glass above the front doors of a home on Sherri Drive. Police were called at 4:10 a.m. Nov. 24. There are no suspects and the case is pending investigation. Unknown persons smashed several windows of a vehicle belonging to a Marlboro resident while it was parked in the street on Wiltshire Drive. Police were called at 2:19 a.m. Nov. 27. The case is pending investigation. Unknown persons threw two rocks through a front glass window of a home on Grandview Lane at 11:50 p.m. Nov. 29. The case is pending investigation. Two groups of juveniles in two vehicles stopped in front of a home on Fountayne Lane at 11:39 p.m. Nov. 30 and threw rocks through two windows of the home. Police said the juveniles fled toward Kinney Road in a four-door 500 Series Mercedes-Benz and a dark-colored blue Pontiac Sunbird or Grand Am. The case is pending investigation. Unknown persons threw a landscaping rock through a window above the front door of a home on Gramercy Lane at 11:52 p.m. Dec. 2. A check of the area revealed no suspects. Police are asking anyone with information to call headquarters at (732) 446-4300. All calls will be kept confidential. Manalapan police charged Tate Rupprecht, 49, of Freehold, with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, refusal to submit breath samples and failure to maintain lane following a motor vehicle stop on Route 9 at 1:15 a.m. Dec. 3. Rupprecht was processed and released. Unknown persons entered a home on Gawain Drive and ransacked numerous rooms and bedrooms. The suspects removed a total of $750 cash from the home. Police were called at 9:10 p.m. Nov. 30. An employee of Fine Jewelers Inc. at the Englishtown Auction Sales called police at 3:21 p.m. Nov. 30 to report the theft of 14-karat gold bracelets from an unlocked display case. The total value of the missing items is $4,000. Police said the employees could not provide a description of the suspects. The case is pending investigation. A motor vehicle stop on Route 9 at 1:46 a.m. Nov. 27 resulted in the arrest of two residents of Staten Island, N.Y. Police said Robert Romano was charged with driving with a suspended license, possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) believed to be cocaine, possession of under 50 grams of CDS believed to be marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of CDS in a motor vehicle. Romano was released on $1,000 bail. Police said Christina Fleischman was charged with throwing debris from a motor vehicle, possession of under 50 grams of CDS believed to be marijuana, possession of hydrocodone, possession of psylocybin, possession of Ritalin, possession of Xanax and having an open container of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle. Fleischman was released on $2,500 bail. Officers responded to Gettysburg Drive at 4:50 a.m. Nov. 27 after a resident observed a vehicle parked in the street with its engine running, its headlights on and the driver passed out. Police charged Andrew T. Cooke, 25, of Staten Island, N.Y., with driving while intoxicated and reckless driving. Cooke was taken to headquarters, processed and released. His vehicle was impounded. |
