     The rapidly growing sport of lacrosse was introduced to the Freehold Regional District last year when Freehold Township fielded boys’ and girls’ varsity teams. Lacrosse was a hit with the Patriots, and what a difference a year of learning has meant to its varsity teams.

     Dean Ehehalt is now the dean of Monmouth University baseball coaches. Last week, the Middletown South High School alum surpassed Bob Sprague (203-85-2) as the college’s all-time winningest coach with his 204th career win when the Hawks beat Wagner College, 9-7, on April 10.
