     HOLMDEL — Matt Forys and Laura Saffer, the new Freehold Regional District cross country champions, chose similar paths to winning their titles Friday at Holmdel Park. Neither runner wanted the 5,000-meter race to come down to a sprint finish and used late surges to see to it that it didn’t.
