Community Bulletin Board program set for Jan. 31 The Manalapan Police Department will offer free child fingerprinting Jan. 31 between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Sprint PCS store, 5 Route 9, near Craig Road. Public safety experts report that fingerprinting is an effective tool that can help authorities recover missing children. Sprint has partnered with the Manalapan police to offer the program as a service to the community. Each participant will receive his or her child’s fingerprints, photo and identification kit. Woman’s Club to meet Feb. 7 in Freehold Games and memories will be the theme of the Feb. 7 meeting of the Freehold Township Woman’s Club. The club meets on the first Monday of most months at 7:30 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, Park Avenue, Freehold. Members will bring decorated cans of cookies and candy to brighten Valentine’s Day for residents of local boarding homes. "Operation Candy/Cookie" is one of the projects of the N.J. Local student named Hispanic Scholar Joseph Mauer of Freehold was recently named a National Hispanic Scholar by the College Boards. The scholastic honor is the Hispanic version of the National Merit Program and acknowledges the top one percent of students in the nation based on PSAT and SAT scores. Mauer is the first National Hispanic Scholar to enroll in Southeastern College, Lakeland, Fla., where he plans to major in management. The Freehold High School senior is the son of Eduard and Marilyn Mauer of Freehold. |
