Grants for environmental projects available

The nonprofit Trust for Public Land, Morristown, will offer 10 annual grants to nonprofits for local and regional projects directly benefiting Barnegat Bay and its watershed. The grants range from $500-$5,000 each. The deadline for proposals is March 5.

Only 501(c)3 nonprofits are eligible for the grants, which are derived from a fund established by a $2.5 million donation to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection from the former Ciba-Geigy Corp. Local grant recipients for 2003 were the American Littoral Society and the New Jersey Marine Sciences Consortium, both Sandy Hook.

For more information, call Erin Maguire at the trust, (973) 292-1100, ext. 10; e-mail erin.maguire@tpl.org; or write to Maguire at the Trust for Public Land, 20 Community Place, Second Floor, Morristown 07960.
