Poster, bumper sticker
contests on ‘Living Soil’

"The Living Soil" is the theme of the 2004 Conservation Poster and Bumper Sticker contests. The contests are open to students from Monmouth and Middlesex counties.

Both contests are divided into four divisions: grades 2-3, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12. Freehold Soil Conservation District local prizes include $100, $75 and $50 United States savings bonds. All first-place winning local entries will be submitted for state-level competition, and state-level prizes include $200, $100 and $50 savings bonds. A grand champion for the bumper sticker contest will be selected at the state level, and the winning bumper sticker will be produced and distributed statewide.

Teachers of students who win first place at the state level will receive a $100 stipend to purchase conservation or science-related materials for their classroom. State-level winners will be honored at a ceremony in Trenton in May.

Contest entry forms are available by calling Freehold Soil Conservation at (732) 446-2300, ext. 25; or by e-mail at info@freeholdscd.org. The contest entry deadline is April 14.
