Bulletin Board Freehold Township has announced that Toll Brothers will be installing sewer lines for the Riviera development which will result in the following road closings: • July 15 through Aug. 1 – the Jackson Mills/Bergerville/Stone Hill intersection, Jackson Mill Road south to Eaglenest Road will be closed. • Aug. 4-22 – work on Bergerville Road from the Howell boundary to Jackson Mills Road will cause those roads to be closed. Detour routes will be posted, and police will be directing traffic. Notices will be sent to all area residents and businesses in the area affected by the closures. Family Portrait Day at CentraState Aug. 10 The Freehold Borough and Township Auxiliary of CentraState Medical Center will present Family Portrait Day Aug. 10. Quality Portraits of Mountainside will provide family portraits, by appointment only (no walk-ins), at the medical center, Freehold Township. There will be no sitting or service fees charged during the fund-raiser. Proceeds will benefit CentraState Medical Center. For a sitting time, call Geri at (732) 617-2251. Theater season calendars available The New Jersey Theatre Alliance is currently offering free calendars of the professional theater season, with descriptions and performance dates of productions offered by the state’s 22 professional theaters. Freehold library offers summer reading, crafts The Freehold Public Library will offer a summer storytime for children ages 3-5. Children ages 6 and up are invited to participate in the summer reading program "Read and Grow, 100 Years." One of the craft events will be drawing scenes of Freehold from 100 years ago on quilt squares to commemorate the library’s 100th anniversary. Banjo band forming in Freehold area The Banjo Strummers of Central Jersey is starting a nonprofit banjo band in the Freehold area. Needed are banjo, tuba or sousaphone, bass guitar and trumpet players. The band will play the music of Tin Pan Alley, Al Jolson, Irving Berlin, etc., from the 1920s and 1930s.
