Manalapan looking into possibility of rescheduling community event

To our fellow Manalapan residents: Due to inclem-ent weather on June 14, the much-anticipated "Manalapan Under the Stars and Stripes" was canceled.

The decision to cancel the event was carefully reached after consulting with the Manalapan Police Department, fire department, first aid squad, recreation department and the Heritage Committee members. Once the ground conditions became dangerous, we considered the safety of our residents and participants in closing the event.

We are aware of how much the event means to our residents; the Heritage Committee was equally disappointed at the cancellation because of the countless hours these volunteers spent planning what promised to be a memorable evening. It is for those reasons that we are looking into the possibility of an abridged version of the event in conjunction with one of our summer concert series. Details will follow.
