Jade Fire to appear in concert

Jade Fire, a nine-member youth rock band with members hailing from Freehold, Manalapan and Marlboro, has announced its summer concert calendar for 2003.

The band has recently released a CD of original music, which has been featured on several radio stations, including WRAT-FM, "The Rat."

The band has progressed to the regional finals of the JerseyShows "Battle of the Bands." This event will take place June 29 at 1 p.m. at The Saint, 601 Main Street, Asbury Park. The band has progressed through a pool of 96 bands statewide and is now one of eight finalists.

Jade Fire’s summer schedule is:

• June 18, Jenkinson’s Point Pleasant Beach, Radio Disney event on the beach, 5 p.m.

• June 19, The Sawmill, Seaside Park, hosted by WRAT-FM, 8 p.m.

• June 21, Russo Music Center, Hamil-ton, Battle of the Bands event hosted by WMMR-FM, noon.

• June 25, St. Veronica’s Church Car-nival, Route 9, Howell, 7 p.m.

• June 27, First Energy Park, Lake-wood, American Cancer Society Relay For Life Benefit, 8 p.m.

• June 29, The Saint, 601 Main Street, Asbury Park, Regional Finals, Battle of the Bands, 1 p.m.

• July 6, Festival of the Sails, Keyport, 12:30 p.m.
