Bulletin Board The GFWC Molly Pitcher Woman’s Club of Freehold held an installation luncheon May 20 for officers for the 2003-04 term. Alice Williams of Freehold served as the installing officer and honored each officer with a rose, the club flower. The officers are Ann D. Oliver, president; Shirley Boyle, first vice president; Doris Hupfer, second vice president; Jean Herberger, corresponding secretary; Louise H. Smith, treasurer; and Alice Masterson, federation secretary. The club will continue to support the GFWC state project, Canine Companions for Independence, and the community improvement program at the Molly Pitcher spring in Monmouth Battlefield State Park, Manalapan. Canine Companions is a nonprofit organization that enhances the lives of people with disabilities other than blindness. Puppy raisers are needed to help with this project. Anyone interested in raising a puppy may call (732) 780-5416 for more information. The first phase at the Molly Pitcher spring project, the overlook and wood-chip path, was dedicated on April 27. The second phase will be to install a low-profile wayside exhibit and bench near the spring. Visitors may view the site by calling Garry W. Stone, historian, at (732) 780-5782. The site is off Route 522 adjacent to the Old Tennent Cemetery, and is accessible for people with handicaps. Marlboro resident to be honored June 25 Cardinal Newman Council No. 5324 Knights of Columbus (K of C), Matawan, will hold an open house and ceremony to honor Marlboro resident Tom Cosentino, June 25 at 8 p.m. The free open house will be at Saint Clement’s Banquet Hall, Freneau Avenue, Matawan. Cosentino was recently elected Grand Knight of Council No. 5324. A teacher of high school religion at Saint Clement’s, Cosentino previously served as president of its Holy Name Society. He is a publicist for Metro TV, a division of Cablevision, as well as a publicist in the thoroughbred racing industry. He serves on the board of the non profit Michael’s Feat, for seriously ill newborns and families. Also honored at the open house will be the volunteers who helped with the Council’s annual fund drive. The community is invited to attend, and catered food and light beverages will be served. Concert for Friends of Clearwater June 27 Bob Killian, singer, composer and founder of the annual Clearwater Festival and the Monmouth County Friends of Clearwater, Red Bank, will perform a benefit concert June 27 at 8 p.m. The concert will be at the Unitarian Universalist Con-gregation of Monmouth County, 1475 W. Front St., Middletown. Tickets cost $10; $7 for children age 12 and younger, Proceeds benefit the Monmouth County Friends of Clearwater. Killian founded Clearwater in 1974.
