Lauren Lo, a 10-year-old swimmer for the YMCA of Western Monmouth County Black Team, Freehold Township, broke two team records at the Princeton Fall Festival. Her 36.09 for the 50-yard breaststroke and 1:17:68 for the 100-breaststroke were not only new YMCA marks, but meet records as well. Several other YMCA swimmers had impressive times at the festival. Courtney Smith won the 100 butterfly (1:04.52), Maggie Smith was first in the 100 Individual Medley (1:25.85) with teammate Chelsea Unver, fifth. Ahely Pitner captured the 200 backstroke (2:32.71), and Michael Dietrich touched the wall first in the 200 IM (2:32.93).

Howell’s Marnie Bentley and Cristol Wagner are members of The College of New Jersey’s women’s swimming and diving team. Last year, the Lions won the New Jersey Athletic Conference and Metropolitan championships and were 25th at the nationals. They went 8-2 in dual meets.

The Lions are off to a 4-2 start this year.

Bentley, a junior who graduated from the Peddie School, Hightstown, is swimming the breaststroke and freestyle events for CNJ.

Wagner is a freshman from Freehold Township High School. She competed in the individual medley and butterfly events.
