Author to discuss book
on strife in N. Ireland

Patrick Michael Rucker, author of This Troubled Land: Voices From Northern Ireland on the Front Lines of Peace, will give a talk at Monmouth County Library Headquarters, Manalapan, at 7 p.m. July 11. Rucker moved to Belfast in 1998 in order to write the book in which he speaks with victims, assassins, thugs, soldiers and the peace campaigners who are involved in the struggle between the Catholics an Protestants, Loyalists and Republicans in Northern Ireland. The book is a record of the actions, emotions and thoughts of those who lived through "the troubles," according to a press release.

Club slates golf outing

The Marlboro Jewish Center will sponsor its third annual Men’s Club golf outing July 29 at the Battleground Country Club, Manalapan. The fee for golfers is $150; dinner guests are $36. Sponsorships are still available starting at $250. Details: (732) 536-2300.
