MILDRED MEYER LELIAERT, 90, of Freehold died Feb. 13 at The Manor, Freehold Township, after a lengthy illness. Born in Paterson, she had lived with her sister, Inez, in several surrounding areas, but resided in Freehold Borough for many years. She had been employed as a seamstress by Atlantic Frocks and Eisner’s, both of Freehold, for a number of years. She was a member of the International Ladies’ Garment Workers Union, New York. She is survived by her sister, Inez I. Leliaert of Freehold; and a cousin, Bertha Derby of Pompton Lakes. Interment took place at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township. MICHEL ANN TORRES, 36, of Keansburg died Feb. 14 in Keyport. Born in Marlboro, Mass., she lived in Freehold before moving to Keansburg four years ago. She was a data entry clerk for Answercom, Perth Amboy, and had worked as an assistant in human services at Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital, Marlboro. She is survived by a son, Edgar Torres of Putnam, Conn.; a daughter, Toni Marie Infante of Freehold; four brothers, Donald Fairthorne of Enfield, Conn., Russell Fairthorne of Green Bay, Wis., Arthur Fairthorne of Putnam and Thomas J. Fairthorne of Jackson; two sisters, Deborah Parks of Wrightstown and Rita Rudai of Robbinsville; a granddaughter; and her fiancé, Tyronne D. Wise of Keansburg. Interment took place at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. EUGENE P. HURLE, 75, of Manalapan, died Feb. 15 at home. Born in Newark, he had been a resident of Manalapan since 1983. Mr. Hurle was a police officer for the City of Newark for 37 years before his retirement in 1985. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Policeman’s Benevolent Association, Newark. Mr. Hurle is survived by his wife of 54 years, Shirley Gauweiler Hurle; four sons, John, Kevin, Dennis and Eugene Hurle; three daughters, Kathy Petrone, Jean Ruggiero and Colleen Adinolfi; a brother, Raymond Hurle; a sister, Marie Conover; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, Manalapan, followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan. MARION STORER ALLERTON, 99, of Freehold Township died Feb. 16 at home. Born in Howell, she was a lifelong resident of the Freehold area. She worked as a winder at the former A&M Karagheusian Rug Mill, Freehold. She was predeceased by her husband, Gordon E., in 1995; a son, George C. Bird, in 1989; and a sister, Eleanor Casler, in 1993. She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Elinor Bird Squires; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson, all of Long Island, N.Y. Interment took place at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township. MARIAN BERKY, 81, of Freehold Township, died Feb. 17 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in New York City, she lived in The Bronx, N.Y., before moving to Freehold Township in 1952. Mrs. Berky was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, John Sr., who died in 1986. Mrs. Berky is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John R. and Debra Berky of Freehold Township; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and William Siano of Long Branch; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were private. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, N.J. Affiliate Memorials Program, 2250 Route 1, North Brunswick 08902-4301. ROSE ANN SICHENZE, 71, of Freehold Township died Feb. 18 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she had lived in Staten Island, N.Y., before moving to Freehold Township in 1966. She was the secretary to the Freehold Township planning and zoning boards, where she was employed for the past 34 years. She was a graduate of Xavier High School, Brooklyn, and attended the Katharine Gibbs School of Business, New York City. She is survived by her husband, Vincent S.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Francis and Pamela of Boise, Idaho, and Michael and Denise of Ocean Township; a daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and Thomas Tiplady of Toms River; a brother, Michael F. Fasanaro Jr., and his wife, Donna, of Virginia Beach, Va.; and five grandchildren. JOHN SANZONE, 77, of Old Bridge died Feb. 21 at home. Surviving are his wife, Frances Pacifico Sanzone; two sons, John Sanzone and Michael Sanzone, both of Old Bridge; a daughter, Diane Nordyk, also of Old Bridge; six brothers, Vincent Sanzone of Brick, Anthony Sanzone of Cedar Grove, Nicholas Sanzone of Scotch Plains, Paul Sanzone of Freehold and Gerald Sanzone of California; two sisters, Angie Molinaro of West Orange and Madalin Zirrillo of the Toms River section of Dover; and three grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Ambrose Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover. MARGUERITE "MARGO" ADAMS, 89, of The Villages, Howell, died Feb. 21 at home. Born in New York City, she had lived in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., before moving to Howell in 1995. She was a teacher in the Wappingers (New York) Central School for 35 years before her retirement in 1976. She was a 1934 graduate of Hunter College, New York, and received a master’s degree from New York University. She was a former member of the New Hackensack Reformed Church, New Hackensack, N.Y.; a former member and president of the Wappingers Falls Board of Education; and a member of the New York State Teachers Association, and the National Education Association. She attended the First Baptist Church, Freehold. She was predeceased by her husband, John, in 1981. She is survived by a son, Paul of Spring Run, Pa.; two daughters, Elaine Leschot of Freehold Township and Karen Kremer of Seattle; a sister, Elaine Anderson of Grants Pass, Ore.; and six grandchildren. ESTANISLAO DELAFUENTE, 83, of Marlboro died Feb. 21 at home. Born in San Miguel, the Philippines, he had lived in Bayonne for two years before moving to Marlboro in 1998. He was president of Dunhill Professional Alliance, Marlboro. He was dean of architecture at National University in the Philippines until 1971. He was a communicant of St. Gabriel’s Roman Catholic Church, Marlboro. He was predeceased by his wife, Asuncion Veneracion, in 1996; and a son, Renato, in 1989. He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ernesto of Marlboro, and Roberto and Brenda of Bayonne; four daughters and sons-in-law, Cecilia and Eduardo Alcaraz of Marlboro, Leticia and Eriberto Santos of Kinnelon, Cynthia and Bernardino Lota of Marlboro, and Carina and Renato Pilande of Marlboro; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Gabriel’s Church, followed by entombment at St. Gabriel’s Mausoleum, Marlboro. |
